Default Strange - does anyone else experience this?

I only started a few days ago but am starting to notice something really strange....immediately after eating my meal, I feel ravenously hungry for about half an hour, to the point of feeling a bit sick. Once this sensation passes I feel completely satisfied and don't feel hungry at all until I am preparing my next meal.

Anyone else?

I occasionally still feel this even right now during maintenance. Think it is the way the gastric juices are breaking down our food. Also, the brain takes signal from the stomach that it is full only after 10 mins or so after food.

have you tried eating your meal really slowly- spread the meal over 10 minutes or so ( hard to do with small amounts i know) but this seems to work for me - seems to fool the brain/stomach into thinking it is a big meal

I had that exact same thing - still do sometimes on maintenance. It makes sense what FlaMie said with the gastric juices. It mainly happens when I eat Cohens friendly, though. If I eat carb or sugar heavy foods, I just feel heavy and bloated and yuck. Ah, the changes in tastes, huh?

i still try to stretch my meals out so that it takes me at least 20-30min to eat it when i can. it is easy if you take a few bites, drink water maybe get up and move around while your eating (like go and get salt and pepper-a napkin or what ever to drag out the time) I can still eat like a hoover vacuum when i am pressed for time.

I get the same horrible 'im starving' hunger pangs after eating too! They quicky go and I forget about them, but now that someone else has mentioned it, I've realised. From the replies to your question knickerless, it looks to be just another sign that everything is in order and our bodies are doing their jobs. woo hoo

I'm actually starting to find them a little comforting!! Like you say nattyg it's like a sign that everything is working as it should be.

It's funny because even when I have gone through periods of not eating all day and just having the one meal at dinner, I have never really experienced hunger pains so it was quite a novelty to be feeling them!!
