Default Panda's Diary

Hi everyone. I am on day 13 of Cohens. Have been reading some of your posts and tried to figure it all out. Haven't figured it all out so thought I'd get started with my dairy etc anyway. Early days but it all seems to be going quite well. I am struggling a bit with the water. Hilarious but usually end up with 4 or 5 glasses still to drink near bedtime! But I'm doing it...

I feel WELL on this - must be the balancing of the insulin. So I'm impressed. And lost about 14 cms in week one.

This is an amazing forum. You are all so supportive of one another and that is wonderful and I'm sure makes a big difference to reaching those goals. Seeing some of your results and journeys is quite inspiring. Panda

And thanks LIL Doll for your tips - I followed that link and it was fantastic information. Also haven't weighed in yet as only 2 weeks (love this program but feels like a month or more...) But I lost another 14.5 cms today - yay twice. So an unbelievable 28cms in two weeks. I'm already getting onto clothes I haven't worn for a while. Now that's motivating.

Hey Panda - WELCOME to the forum! I'm brand new myself so we'll be traveling together!

I personally have no problem drinking the 2-2.5l of water every day but have read that it's good to have a bottle/glass next to you at all times and just to keep drinking small sips all day. Some people say a slice of lemon/mint leave makes it better.

All the best and see you around!

Yay got my Panda back. I am crook today - all over, and can't do anything except flop on the sofa. I've been on antibiotics (last day today) . Good news is that it'll be all over for winter, and I don't much feel like eating. One more day for week 2 measure on Axis 6 week challenge. Maybe if I sweat enough I'll get to my next goal of 100kg. It just takes a good fever to get you over these bumps, that's my philosophy. (you see, I'm hysterical).

I am now close to my weight as it was for a few years until two years ago when I started taking some medication that really loaded it on. I feel good about that, and even better, I don't have to shop as I'm fitting into those clothes again.

For most of my adult life, I've hovered around 82-90kgs and as I'm tall, that's been fine. So reaching that weight will be fantastic. Even when I was pregnant I was about 95kgs, so it's alarming to think I've been walking around for the past year as I would feel if I was 9 months pregnant, carrying a full suitcase to travel overseas. Imagine lugging that around everywhere.

In fact, that's what I've lost already in the last 9 weeks - almost 20 kgs which is a suitcase full of luggage. Now that's a mind bender.

Thanks Mumandnana. 2nd dose of antibiotics but I'm sure I'm turning corner today. Older daughter off with injury and little one got a bad cold - I think it'll be a dvd weekend for us all.

Didn't lose the other 0.3kg but doesn't matter - hopefully I'll bust that next goal next week. I'm d-free so it'll all be fine.

Thanks for visiting and have a good day and don't forget to enjoy all your fruit allowance. I've been loving pink ladies recently - so yummy and substantial, and half of one is really satisfying. I try cutting it up in different ways - going for thin slivers at the moment and laying them all around a plate - looks like masses of fruit!

I am SO hungry today. Maybe it's the antibiotics? If we had wallpaper I'd eat it! I think I'll be having an extra large apple this afternoon. Yikes. Pre-meditated deviation.

Well done! Take a few photos of yourself as you are at the moment - it will be TREMENDOUS to look at them in 2-3-4-5 weeks!

Yes I will take pics! Love the ticker Kenga!
Think I've got/had a virus - I've been exhausted for the past few days. I can hardly function. Hopefully past the worst of it.
Does everyone weight themselves regularly? I'm waiting for week 4 - trying to follow rules and do what I'm told! But it feels like forever has past and I'm only starting week 3!

Hi Panda, welcome to the forum. Sounds like your really on a roll already. I weigh myself all the time but it can be disheartening if you dont lose, at least if you weigh as they suggest you see bigger losses.

I do weigh myself every morning, Panda - not a good idea when on Cohen's as the weight loss is a cyclical thing and some days you lose, some days you gain even when you are 100% and D-free, but I decided to do it for the 1st week as a motivator and then hide the scales.

I hope you are feeling better today!

I was and am a daily weigher too... it can be both motivating and de-motivating. If it causes you upset, daily weighing is not a good idea, but if you can really understand that it is cyclic, it can make things easier... I would get disheartened if I didn't see the 'right' numbers on the scales... but in the end I still knew this was the right 'diet' and that no matter what those scales said I was doing the right thing... and of course, the next week or the week after, the weight would catch up... you gotta remember that every so often your body needs to catch up with the weightloss or else we'd all end up with rolls of skin around our ankles... hehe

Trust in Cohens

Hello everyone and happy Easter. I'm well into third week, so get the big weigh in and blood test on Friday! SOOO nervous and I haven't touched the scales so absolutely no idea what it will be. I do feel so much better though - last Friday I had lost 35 cms so it must be working.

Once I get my weigh in I'll put up my ticker. Bit disheartening if it's got not losses on it so won't bother till I can have some weight loss to show. Another big thing - I'm already down one dress size. That's an amazing feeling.

Anyone had big weigh in surprises recently?

Hi Panda, I was going back through your diary and I had to laugh because you were worried about putting your ticker up in case you had no weight loss for your first month and it turned out you had a massive 10 kg loss ! That was the neatest news and such a boost to your journey. Don't worry about your unintended slip ups, there is nothing that can be done about it, just read over your program as often as you can until you really understand it and read the helpful stickies on the forum for what is bad and to be avoided. Who does not make mistakes sometimes? Keep sprinting down that beach wee lady and when the sprint becomes a jog just watch the miles get eaten up by perseverance.
