Default HELLO

Hi

I'm new here (obviously), I haven't started Cohen's yet but am seriously thinking about it.

According to their website I will need to be 48 - 51kg to get to my goal weight, that sounds utterly too small for me and I'm concerned I won't be able to reach the goal within 6 months.

I would need to lose 50kg which is a huge amount. What happens if I don't reach goal weight to get the refeed etc before my time is up? do I have to spend more money, doesn't seem to be much information in regards to that.

So if anyone can help I would be grateful.

Thanks

Wow - if you were to shed 50Kgs in just 6 months, it'd be right on the edge.... Some have come close, but often those who are on the way to losing heaps more (as those with more to lose, often lose more quickly).

Certainly the clinic is key in providing an answer to that question. See, they may have charged a smaller upfront fee for "just 6 months" (which is a change from how it used to be done). In that case, an extra 3 months would have a special price too.

For sure, most would be done within 9 months, so long as they "get in and do it" and not get caught wavering off-track.

Welcome aboard btw,

Koh

Here it's $995 for six months, doesn't seem to be any options for longer or extensions, but yeah I will have to go and talk to someone at the clinic.

I actually don't want to be 51kgs! 60kgs would be my preferred weight or even slightly more.

Thanks!!

Only problem with that is that you likely wouldn't have reached your equilibrium, thus may struggle to stay there.....

Another one for your clinic methinks.

There are some great threads about goal weights and how people think its too small. Wait and see how you feel when you get closer. As far as the contract goes definitely chat with the your clinic

Hi Rebecca, I also have to lose around 50kg (52kg actually) and I was worried I would not do it in 6 months, but once I started I changed my thought process as this really is a lifestyle change, not just something u do for a set period of time. So I have accepted that it will probably take me longer than the 6 months and I will have to pay for an extension, but if I weigh the cost of this program up, with the health benefits that I will gain from being at goal weight there is really no comparison. My goal weight is 50 - 53kg and I can not imagine myself that small, but I have decided to trust what the good dr says and go with it, and from seeing and reading what others have achieved on this program, I truly believe our bodies will tell us when we are at our optimum weight.
If u do choose to go ahead with this program u wont regret it.

Hi Rebecca and welcome! i also had more that 60kg's to loose and in the beginning I also thought it was far too much and my goal weight was too low but as you get closer your perspective changes. I've signed up for a 2nd 6 month period and it was cheaper than the first 6 months and it's so worth it to get to the end properly.

Good luck and just wait and see how you feel as you get closer to your goal!

Hi Rebecca
Welcome. I have 51kgs to loose also and 50kgs is my goal weight - I have never been there before so cannot imagine being there but I'm trusting the process and going along for the ride of my life. If you google healthy weights and even talk to your doctor they will say the same as what Dr Cohen has suggested (well mine did anyway). Anyway welcome and maybe we will see you around here!

Hey thanks everyone!

The clinic had said I can extend for 3 months if needed so will most likely give it a go once I can raise the funds

Definately worth finding the funds for! I save about $80 a month just from not buying wine ... so say 4 months on the program (at a guess) is $320, that's a third of the cost recouped, just like that!
And I notice all the kids snacks seem to be lasting a lot longer these days! Guess I was the biggest culprit!

Definitely worth it. I agree with Riccadonna the kids lunch things last all week now not like before maybe 1 or 2 days, so savings heaps in the grocery bill. Just take the plunge you won't regret it.

gidday, and welcome 45KG for me and I have saved $300 off my food bill a month that includes not buying booze and going out for dinner.. if you are like me will will get 1/2 way through and it will pay for itself and even if it didn't you would pay full price in a heartbeat for the benefits that Cohen's affords. Good luck
