Default Is beef any kind lean still a new protein if you have not had it for 3-4 months?

Hi

I'm a long time reader, but dont tend to post. I get so much out of this forum but anyone who has read even one thread will know this aswell! I'm doing day 9 out of refeed at present. My clinic is not the most supportive and I'm wondering if anyone could answer a quick question in time for dinner?
Is beef any kind - lean, thats listed as a new protein in the refeed program (my planned new protein addition) still a new protein if i have not had it for 3-4 months? I noticed today that its in both new and old protein catagories and even though its only 40gms id prefer to do it right. Even though i have not had it for months im thinking it would be ok? Any imput would be appriecated and thanks in advance. Hopefully i dont need to do a quick dash to the shops!

Hi Mel,

I've only just logged on, and see you don't have an answer yet - I just hope you "bit the bullet" and went with the beef, 'cos I don't believe it would harm you. But then, I don't have a Plan, so I just go by "common sense".

And common sense tells me this:-
1. If you haven't had it for months, then, yeah, it IS "new" to you, and

2. If it transpired that you shoulda had "something else", just sticking with an OLD protein won't hurt you anyway (I would think).

Of course, I could be wrong, but, if I am, I don't think it would be a major wrong, and your refeed shouldn't be "stuffed beyond all recognition"

Hope it helps, and I hope you have ALREADY enjoyed your beef !!

Koh

Thanks Yeah I agree and did have the beef. I reasoned too that my body would not be use to having beef so therefore is a new protein. Like you said common sense does prevail. Thanks again for clarifing!

P.S Beef - it was lovely should have had it more often, im just more of a tuna and chicken fan
