Re: Hello???
Hi Running Girl - how long have you been in NZ now, and where in SA were you from? Do you still have family here and do you visit, and, and, and?
My little sister moved to Perth a year ago, but her and her hubby is already busy packing to go and settle in Paris in January - very exciting stuff! |

Re: Hello???
I would love to leave! Although we haven't been a 'victim of crime' yet (dare I say), there is not a day that goes by that you don't read in the papers about a 11-year old boy that was tied up to watch his mother being raped...and then 6 months later the family is victims again and the boy runs 6kms to look for help whilst his mother is tied up for 2 X cell phones...his grandparents were killed on the neighbouring farm 6 years ago...or some other horrific shocker! In today's news a soccer captain was killed during an apparent burglary (looks more like a hit murder) and finally they say 'ENOUGH!'.
Don't mean to vent, like I say, we cannot complain as we have lead a pretty comfortable and decent life so far... But I'm glad to hear that it is working out for you guys...and that you get great support and care for your special laatlammetjie! |

I know and because we have family there its hard to hear all this things my husbands dad is 90 yrs old and still lives by himself....... We can just pray for them to be safe ................ We haven't been victim of crime either i just needed to give my children something better for their future here my son would not have to fight the masses and B.E.E to get a job after school..... We just got this opportunity and we took it and starting new in a country can be hard but its what you make of it and if you stay in sa you life the best live you can ........
And even here you would get south africans that would sit here and complain about everything here in nz ..... It bugs me so much none of them are forced to be here they paid a lot of money to come over here ........ So they should suck it up or go back ........ This is not the land of milk and honey .... The kiwis does not get our humour somethime i canot understand them ........ They children have to much opinions here and its cold and it can be lonely .... But this is some stuff i have decide i can live with but it frustrate at time but its my opinion and i dont share it much ...... I have a lovely warm home so if im cold i stay inside ........ This is me venting a bit ...... I must say technology has safe me alot as i chat to friends and family more now than i did when i was in SA |

Re: Hello???
Down here in Perth.... since 2011. All the way from Pretoria.
We packed and left for Perth. Just had enough of politics as both Hubby and I worked for Government as Consultants. We bought house next to Yanchep beach, settled in very well, kids are Aussies and No, we have no intentions to go back. Not even for a visit. I have parents in SA and they are welcome to visit me if they want to see me. But I will never expose my children to that Crime Invested Country. My in-laws visited last year for 4 weeks and they enjoyed it so much, they are on their way for another visit. Last edited by EEEE; 08-12-2014 at 21:49. |

Re: Hello???
Immigrating is quite difficult but after 1000 sleeps, you should be okay. Our kids are ozzies now and we have settled in nicely.
It was a rocky road prior to smooth sailing but I would do it in a heartbeat. |

Re: Hello???
Hi, I'm new here. This is my third time around. The first time was a breeze. Got to goal and lost 27kgs in 5 months. Second time around, I gave up after three months. I now have more weight to lose than ever before. I am using my old plan that I got the second time around (about three years ago). I know I shouldn't, but I can't afford to sign up again and I really need to lose the weight. I need motivation desperately.

Re: Hello???
Hello everyone!!
I'm Jozilicious aka Gail from Joburg, SA and I'm a roundabout Cohen's addict. Well maybe that should be, a food addict and the result is - Dr Cohens. I've dusted off my Dr Cohen's plan and I've decided to do this FOR REAL this time. I'm on day 6 of week 1. The SA forum is new, since I last did Dr Cohen's - so that is incredibly exciting. I'm back for a little motivation and a lot of (friendly) kick ass. Hope you all have an inspired day. Your task is to keep me accountable |

Hi Jozilicious!! So refreshing to have this vibey attitude of yours here. Unfortunately this place sucks! Dead as a door nail! Its a Ghost Town!
I was also hoping to get some real ass kicking but not a soul in sight. I guess everyone has joined the FB group

Re: Hello???
Heyo Gail!
Yip, the forum (not this New You Forum, the old Cohen forum) meant a lot to me in the past. I once went there and found it filled with spam! Weight loss this first week has not been as rapid and kinda discouraging, but I'll stick it out. Of course the disappointment then gives in to cheating with a sweet here and there (damn! need to kick the sweet habit!). It is vital that I stay on track and need I support. So whilst you are still here and not on the FB group (I don't have FB), we have only each other! How are things going with you? How much do you have to loose this time? Take care Jes |

Re: Hello???
Hi Jes and Jozilicious
Sorry we have been very unsupportive neighbours. Actually we have never really used the SA page much we tend to work though the general forum. You can set up a diary in the new diaries section and just keep it there don't worry to wait for it to be moved mine started and has stayed there. But I will make sure to look out for you both in here. OK Ass kicking - what do you want ? we can do anything you like. You have to tell us your story though before we can kick your bums - but have to warn you we are generally quite an understanding and supportive bunch. Hope all is going well with you both on Cohens and the first few week headaches aren't too bad. Keep up the great work |

Re: Hello???
Hi Jozi!!
So glad to hear that you're still on track. Keep it up girl! Must be very difficult for you being vegetarian. Have a look at some vegan recipes to make your food more interesting and easy. Mozzarella cheese I have quite often for lunch (easy to make with salad and I melt the cheese on crackers). At this stage I do not even want visitors or go out to visit until a significant weight reduction has been achieved (which is the point when you don't care about other foods and you're just focussed on reaching your goal). First time around when I did Cohens I went to braai's and had my portion of meat and salad (guessing the portions) and had Tab or Coke light and fruit. It kept me full and I had no desire to have wine! I'm so excited for you cause at 5 weeks you should have lost quite a bit..... pleeeze let us know when you step on that scale. It will motivate me! Drink that water and if you do stray, just carry on again!! Good luck girl!! |
