CB's Diary
Over the last six or seven years I have moved up and down between about 60 and 90 kgs. I am over being fat and intend on 2015 being the year when I get slim and healthy. Too much of life has passed without me feeling great about myself, too many unworn size 10s in my wardrobe, too many times being less than I could have been.
I've used Cohen's before and love the real food and the way it makes me feel. Longest ever was late last year when I managed no deviations for 56 days and shed about 14kgs but then headed off on holiday and lost focus. Starting a diary thread is going to be another tool for keeping focus, so that this time round I will get to goal and find the new me. Weighed in this morning at 81.1. I should be between 60 and 62 so there is a fair way to go. I will explore setting up a ticker once I am sure I have done this new diary thing right.....am not too good at finding my way around the forum but here goes! |

Hey CB! .. Welcome! you will find lots of support in this forum and keeping a diary will help so much.
I'm back again and also very determined to get it sorted this time around!!!! I have so many wonderful skinny clothes and I'm refusing to buy fat ones so I'm looking a bit like a squished ham! Good luck and keep posting.

Re: CB's Diary
Day 2
Thanks for the encouragement. Certainly gives me a boost. Thx! Had an amazing sleep - deep and dreamy. Don't know if it's just Cohens or also being alcohol free. Anyway, it makes me feel good so another reason to continue... Just had a fave breakie - musshies, egg, parsley, crackers and a tiny bit of Mayo. All with a cup of strong black tea. Am nearly through my first litre. Have made a yummy salad of beef, green pepper, red onion, coriander and tomato with a chilli and balsamic dressing. Something to look forward to at lunch time. A nice green apple too. Can never believe just how much fruit and vege we get through when I am only buying Cohens healthy food. Another good thing. Am off to do my exercise. An easy 3k dog walk. I will meditate on why I am doing Cohens and get my head straight before work. Will head in a bit late today as we are still a bit slow post Christmas. Hope everyone else's day has started well. |

Hi CB, . I still need to get use to all the fresh veggies and fruit in the fridge (LOL). To save a few bucks I try and buy the seasonal veggies.

Re: CB's Diary
Day 3
Not a great start to the day. Somehow slept through the alarm and unable to walk and stretch before getting to car service. Irritating. However, did manage to eat and prepare Cohens. Breakie was an egg with cucumber, onion, coriander and Mayo and a bit of curry powder plus crackers. Very tasty. I Know there's been a bit of debate on the forum about which curry powder but Im using one from Harris Farm Spices and Co that seems to be only ground whole spices and it tastes good. Lunch will be tuna salad and an apple plus crackers again. Then afternoon tea of black tea and final cracker. This is when I really start to struggle - around 4.30/5 ish - the carb and glass of wine demons start howling. Worked through it yesterday with a whole load of water, very fast chicken, zucchini and garlic dinner. Then watched mindless TV with an apple and camomile tea. Fortunately family out and I had no responsibilities except to myself. You girls who manage Cohens and look after young children in the evening are awesome! Still, I hope that after a couple more days I will have more energy. A few evening commitments ahead and I will need to plan how I work through these. But basically feeling pretty positive and thinking that diarising really does help keep the mindfulness. Duh. While I wait for my car will explore posting in other peoples diaries... PS watched Bringing Sexy Back last night on 7. Loved the transformations but so felt for them in the extreme exercise stuff. Why oh why can't those trainers get their heads round Cohens? |

Re: CB's Diary
Sounds like you've got it sorted really CB...even the testing part of the day. I found trying on clothes helped me too, enough distraction to get through the hungries and then I didn't feel bloated from drinking too much water.
I know what you mean about the TV shows, I think the same with the Biggest Looser as well. I also wish doctors and trainer were more receptive and knowledgeable about Cohen's as well |

Re: CB's Diary
Lol last night I had to my famous macaroni and cheese for the rest of the fam before I could get to prep my own dinner. Trying to get baby off bottle so I have to be real efficient in having his dinner prepped when his hunger pains hit him lol. It wasnt easy but I daresay manageable. Just tried keeping my focus on what I was to prepare for myself whilst prepping theirs. You are doing well CB

Re: CB's Diary
Hi CB,
Well done on day 3, sounds like you have it all sorted. Craig and I have children grown and left home (24, 22, 19 & 19) so find it much easier to just look after ourselves, however i give huge credit for those maintaining Cohens and having young children. Look forward to following your progress Good luck and enjoy the ride. x Judy x

Re: CB's Diary
Day 4
Thanks for the posts. Ciors - good reminder about trying on clothes. So much fun when we are getting smaller. Ladle - don't know I could handle the Mac cheese temptation... Booboo - we have six biggies 22 -29 between us and while it does give more time for ourselves, there's been the occasional major stress that teenagers and young adults delivers. Anyway, they are highly supportive of healthy stuff - which is great. Hope yours are too! Well, the day has started well, and it sounds great to say and think Day 4. It will be day 44 before I know it. We are out to a Sydney Festival show tonight so I will eat before and enjoy a herbal tea and sparkling water. Plus be the responsible driver as the others may have a drink or two before. Cheese, tomato and onion for breakie, tuna salad at lunch and my fav chicken asparagus and salad dinner with a mustard garlic and white wine vinegar dressing. Loving every mouthful of summer mangos for dessert. Have a great Cohens day everyone!

Re: CB's Diary
Day 5
Reflecting that the last week has gone fast. Thought about stepping on scales this am but don't want to get demotivated if I haven't lost too much. Am feeling very positive and refreshed after a good sleep. Think today will be straightforward. Egg and musshies for breakfast, tuna salad for lunch, steak spinach with some mustard and balsamic for dinner. No temptations as its just me and my son this evening. Will find a movie to chill out with. Think my energy levels are up where they need to be. Have been drinking 3-4 litres of water a day, which may be a bit much, but it's been so hot and sweaty in Sydney. Up nice and early so I can walk and stretch before work. Hope your days are starting well.

Re: CB's Diary
Yep feel so good this morning that it's definitely reason to keep on going.
Felt tired and grumpy after work yesterday. Would have been easy to deviate if I'd had an excuse. But ate yummy steak and spinach and played around on the forum which was a good distraction. We are heading to the Blue Mountains today. It's my daughters birthday and her wish is that I cook salmon and a banana toffee pie for lunch. She is 7 months pregnant and already has three, so I know she will be tired and just love my food. Then tonight we are going out to see another sons band play a gig at the Roundhouse. So my plan for remaining deviation free in the midst of the celebratory food and activity. I will get up now to walk stretch and meditate on the wonders of Dr Cohen and my decreasing kilos. Should get my head straight. Curried egg for breakie and two fav packed salads for lunch and dinner, crackers and fruit. We should be back in Sydney by 6 but at least I will have food in the car if we are late and I start getting tempted. Will save a piece of fruit and then drink a bucket of herbal tea before the gig. That plus being the responsible driver should see me safe and DF. Here goes. Hope everyone enjoys their Saturday.

Re: CB's Diary
Day 7
Feeling very good. Lots of energy. Good head space. Late lunch out a friends house today, so I will eat before I go. I know the food will be very good so must make sure I am not hungry. Chicken salad and mango shld keep me going. Am taking a bottle of bubbly for them and two bottles of Italian sparkling water for me, plus a couple of camomile tea bags in case they only have fruit flavoured herbals. Mind is really positive re the program. I weigh in tomorrow and am hoping for a 2 kg plus loss, given its week 1. But I guess it will be what it will be and I am in for however long it takes.

Re: CB's Diary
good for you, this strength your experiencing will see you well in the journey to goal. One of the girls a couple of years back, would brew strong peppermint tea add sprite zero to it, pour into a wine bottle and have the best nights out.
Have fun and your loss tomorrow will be amazing |
