Hi Rue
As far as I know only dried chilli flakes are allowed. |

You're allowed chili but it needs to be weighed with your vegie allowance and I'm pretty sure it is only green chili.
You wouldn't be allowed to have chili paste because we're not allowed minced garlic or ginger either. |

Pepper and Chili and Chromium
Pepper and Chili
Chili flake are good but try and use Pepper - Pepper has chromium in it which is a hunger suppressant and you will not over use it - where with chili - you might !!! Interestingly though this link has some good information about chili. http://findarticles.com/p/articles/m...0/ai_n16690548 also read this about pepper and chromium http://primev.com/Chromium.htm and here http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/e...cle/002418.htm Andy

You can use fresh garlic, chilli or any other herbs as long as they are weighed...the other option is to use dried chilli or garlic then counted as part of your one teaspoon herbs/spice allowance...
No pre packaged crushed chilli or garlic allowed (unless you make it from fresh yourself)

HI Rue
I'm not exactly sure whether we can use it or not but i've been using green curry & red curry paste...it has mixture of herbs in it but no sugar and no preservatives. i've also asked my mum to make chilli paste from chilli, garlic and onion, i think. i just think these are useful to marinate/ cook the chicken as i don't have many other ideas about making the chicken more tasty. If it is NOT on your list, you can not use it.

Will have to agree with shell. If I'm not mistaken, it even tells you in you program that you cannot use pastes as they have preservatives and other nasties in them. The only pastes you can use are those you make yourself and if you are using fresh spices you need to weight them first as they are part of your veg allowance.
I marinate most everything in a mixture of balsamic vinegar and curry powder. Works a treat for me!
