Thumbs up Newbie

Hi There,
I should be starting Cohens late next week. I had my blood tests this morning and should have my eating plan by next week. Apparently there is a delay in getting the eating plan out at the moment due to a busy period. I am really excited about starting the beginning of a new eating lifestyle and a new me. I normally suffer from constant hunger so I am hoping this will not happen on the plan. Did anyone else suffer from this initially when they first starter? I look forward to any suggestions on how to deal with this. Also, I am a shocker at drinking enough water daily especially in winter - is there anything that can be added to the water to make it more enticing like diet cordials etc?
Thanks for your time and help.
Cheers
S

Hi Sugalite

Welcome to the Program and Welcome to the Forum

In answer to your questions, once the insulin response settles down you will not feel any hunger.

The first three days, while our bodies de-tox, can be a bit uncomfortable, but after that it's plain sailing.

You will learn to love plain water. You will wonder how you ever lived without it! No, don't even think about adding anything to the water.

If it's not on your program you can't have it yet.

Don't sweat the small stuff. The program is exciting, absorbing, and you will love it.

Expect to lose anything up to about 3 kilos in the first week, and depending on how much you have to lose, somewhere between half to 2 kilos each week after that.

Steady weight loss is plenty of incentive to follow the program 100%.

Get yourself set up with a ticker and we can cheer you on as you lose each kilo

Good luck, and here's to a Slim 2009 for you!

Cheers
Kristine

Hi kb64

Go the the Home Page of the Forum and open the 'NEW MEMBERS... Start Here!' sub-Forum

There is an Administrator's post "Adding Tickers To Your Signature" which will guide you through setting up your ticker

It's fun to have a ticker that counts down to goal weight - although some people prefer counting up to the amount lost, that means that no-one else knows where you started or where you are going.

My little figure has almost run her course, it's fun having a ticker!

Cheers
Kristine

Hi Sugalite - I just did my blood tests for the first time on Wed this week, so a total newbie like you. Have been preparing though since 1 Jan by going off coffee and lowering my consumption of carbs, fats and sugars. First three days were the worst but now feel fine, not much hunger pangs (except about an hour before dinner and then I just have to hang in there for a bit). I'm not much of a water drinker either but found going of coffee and soft drinks that I just naturally started drinking more water - got myself a great eco-friendly 600ml water bottle (from SIGG and it looks very cool so nice just to take around to drink out of) and figured just three bottles was close to 2 litres so I'd start with that while I wait for my program - actually not too hard - then figure by time program comes I'll be on to 4 bottles worth and that will be close to 2.5 litres (right in the 2-3 litre zone).

So as a fellow newbie I wish you all the luck in the world - happy to chat anytime online about how to get through this (I like what some others have put in this forum - nothing tastes like slim feels - try to think that now whenever I get tempted) - just in preparation mode and cutting back my food intake but increasing water I lost 3 kgs in 8 days so figure with proper proportions and combining it can only be good and work.

Hi Sugalite

I have commenced the program last weekend. I did initially start in May but due to medication had to stop. So I am in full swing, again. This is day 4 for me. My headaches have subsided and I am filling better. I aim to lose 7-10 kilos in total by the first week of Feb 09. Stay with it. It will be worth it in the long run.
