Gluten-free Question
This is just a nagging question that has been bothering me since I saw an advertisement.
Does Gluten-free food means it is low carb? Are there actually high carb food that is gluten-free?

Re: Gluten-free Question
No Gluten-free is what it is, free from gluten or to be specific a protein gliadin found in cereals, notibly wheat and wheat sourced additives. Even "rice flour" if you are not carefull may contain you guessed it wheat (and hence gluten). Until you look it is amazing how pervasive wheat based ingredients are in the marketplace. From beef stock, strawberry ice-cream, soy sauce, bottled vitamins...if you are a coeliac you need to check everything you eat.
However you can have a high carb diet and be gluten free....just choose potatoes, rice, sweet potatoes, beans etc and not forgetting sugar and high fructose corn syrup (coke-cola, sprite, pepsi )...yes enough to keep you fat forever
