Default old plan or Pre-Cohen's?

Hi There

I'm new 2 the boards, but old 2 Cohen's. Unfortunately I do not have a very successful story. I quit the first time when I was halfway 2 my goal weight, which would've been about 2.5 years ago.

I am back 2 my old heaviest weight and have decided 2 save and get a new plan. My question is should I do the old plan now so I can drop some kilos by Christmas, or should I do pre-Cohen's for the next 2 months while I'm saving, and then start fresh in 2009 when I have my new plan.

I am supposed 2 be on Tony Ferguson at the moment, but get bored on shakes really quickly, and the weight loss has been far from spectacular, especially when I compare it, knowing how much i can lose on Cohen's.

thank u for ur advice

Only my opinion, but just go the Pre-Cohen way... the old plan is no longer relevant and potentially could harm your health. As I understand it, if you are off your original plan for more then 2 months, or gain back more than 4 kgs (which both apply here), then the original plan will not help you anyway.
Hope this helps, there are some more qualifed 'experts' on here, but I'm sure they'll share my sentiment.
Good on you for coming back to Cohens though,
At least you know it works!
Good luck

Ruby

I concur with Ruby. Sounds like a sound plan.

Hi there

Yes do pre-Cohens and get off those dreadful shakes. I did something similar with a shake based diet and ended up miserable and constipated. Cohens has been a breeze in comparison. Give me real food anytime.

Smile thanks for your input guys.

I am definitely doing pre-Cohen's, I don't want to risk getting told that i will have to delay a new program because I was following my old program. I should just throw it in the bin, but I'm too attached to it.

Does anyone know the price of the program these days?? I heard it was going up from the $660 when I last did it.

I also set up a ticker for my pre-Cohen's, so hopefully I will lose that much by Jan 09.

Hi Peacock,

My plan was $750 plus $20 for each blood test. If you email the clinic they will be able to answer any cost question you have.

good Luck.

Hi Stel
Welcome to the forum and to Cohens. I would recommend doing Precohens or your version of it before you start. I found I didn't get a bad detox that way in the first few days.

Wish I could do that direct link that I see andy and Aj and others doing but i can't. Will try to explain where the thread is. In the same section of the forum that this thred is in are some that are in the top section and they have "sticky" before their title - one is thinking of doing Cohens or something like that = it tells you how you can prepare.

I did my version of precohens for two weeks before i started and lost almost 5 kgs doing that and had a gentle esae into real plan. I did my version of it but did cut out all grain carbs - rice, flour, pasta, etc - cut back on diary - just a few milk coffees, ate veges that i love that I couldn't have on the programme - like snow pease and sugar snap peas and other yummy veges. I din't worry too much about quantities either.

I have only been on programme for a few days and have losta fair bit - so I ma happy.

Good luck - good decision oyu have made and I guess we will get to know each other as we travel the road together.

Blessings
Shanara

Hi, I am curretly re-doing cohens with my old program (I fell pregnant during the first time I was doing cohens).

I have had great results so far (5.1kg in 10days) and the plan shows the same progress as last time - so I would say go for it!

The only problem is the re-feed part....... and stabilising your weight at the end of it - you and I are in the same position in that we do not have one.....

I emailed my clinic and they sent me the management guidelines and said that it was possible to maintain my weight but that I had to be VERY careful with what I ate afterwards.....

I hope this helps!

And to post a link, Shanara and others who would like to do it, you need to do the following:

Open a new window (Ctrl/T should do it) and find the post you want.
If it's an individual post in a thread rather than the thread itself, click on the number on the RHS of the band at the top (e.g. #5 in the fifth post). This opens a new window with just that post.
Drag across the address at the top of the screen (individual post or whole thread) that starts 'http://...' and copy it (Ctrl/C).
Go back to your post and paste what you've just copied (Ctrl/V). The link is then in your post. Use Preview Post and check it to be sure.

Back again to do it all over again, starting from exactly the same weight as last time.
My health is not good and my doctor is predicting all sorts of nasty things if I don't lose weight.
What else do I do? I help people make money and I help people save money. Please take a look at http://www.acnlinks.clancie.com.au/
Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

Hi Peacock,
I'm like Alillya- I'm redoing Cohens with my old program too- I have lost 19kg (6 weeks) so far, I'll see how I go, if the weight doesn't continue to come off I'll go back & pay for a new program (I'm hoping that's not the case, as I can't really afford to do that). I contacted the clinic a few months ago & they said to see how I go, if I continiued to lose weight then the program is still working for me.I still have my refeeding program too.
Good luck.
