Hi Col,

Welcome to the Forum!

Seems like you are not drowning but floating as you have managed to post your first diary entry. You must have hit the 'Reply to Thread' button and then typed your message. Well Done! Keep doing that and you will be fine.

Then gradually explore what some of the other buttons are for. I am sure you will be able to set up your ticker as well. Instructions are here:

Print off instructions and then follow step by step. It may seem daunting at first however step by step it is fairly straightforward. One step at a time. Very soon you will be an old hand - or as the description says "part of the furniture.'

If you get really bamboozled there are knights on horses, called administrators or Asy, or Koh or moderators who will gallop to your assistance.

Have fun on the journey. Cohens is a wonderful programme where you will learn much about yourself.

Blessings
Shanara

Hi Col,

Welcome aboard !! It's funny, isn't it, but you already know more than you think. Just do exactly what you did in Kay's Diary - see here:-

Only difference, you "post reply" here in your diary !! Just like you're replying to yourself in a way.

Any other probs, just call for help right here....

Koh

Well what a dummy!!!.
Thankyou for pulling the plug on the bath tub, maybe now i can dog paddle the rest of it .....
Now let me see what i can tell you about me!
Well i am 54 nearly 55 happily married to a very supportive and loving hubby and we live in Hervey Bay. Yes, you guessed it i have the lovely HBS to thank for putting me on the right track to try Cohen's. What an inspiration she is!!!!
I only have one sister and she has always been very slim (biro refill) so when i was growing up i always felt like the chubby one.!
I have always battled my weight, tried every diet known to man and always failed.
I have never felt so good. On Cohen's i have lots of energy, starting to feel so good about how i look and just love the food program.
I have really enjoyed reading everyones trials and lovely recipes, some people are very imaginative with food,it is just great.
My hubby thinks this is wonderful, every few days he comments how good i am looking ,and i love hearing him say that it means so much.
I do have one question though,. Does it matter how much water we use when cooking. What i mean is, mixing up herbs etc does it matter how much water we use to do this ?

Hi welcome to the forum. You will love it. My hubby loves what the programme has done for me and isnt it great to have supportive partners. My hubby loves me no matter what as Im sure yours does.

Its an awesome programme.. Water definately is okay to use with what ever just weigh your herbs obviously first has its all about the right weights of food pre cooked.

Have another great week. Its great to share each others journeys to help us stay motivated.

Maria

Thanks Maria',
I didn't think there WOULD be a problem with the amount of water, but i wanted to make sure, i am just very committed to this and don't want to do the wrong thing. So that is cool, now i will be fine .

Hi Col,

So, when did you start then? Two, three, four weeks ago? Do tell.....

How long have you known HBS? (We're all voyeurs here, so want to know ALL the goss )

And congrats for getting your ticker up and running - I thought you said you "didn't know computers" - you're doing fine, champ,

Koh

Hi Koh,
I was having a grizzle to a friend at the doctors about my weight and in the afternoon she rang and gave me HBS's phone number, the rest is history about one week after that i joined Cohen's. So to answer your question i joined on the 18th of Feb. Here i am!!!!!
It is really hard to imagine me being at my goal weight. Does the weight come off slower when you start to get closer to your goal as it does with other diets?

I've been "an observer" here for almost 2 years - in that time, most have tended to lose at a steady rate every month (after the first month, which is usually bigger - up to 2x).

Sometimes I've seen people "slow down at the end" though. It really seems to be an individual thing.

Can't say much more really - so, Col, think "Que sera sera" ('cos that's really the way things will pan out for you, and all others),

Smile Pblem solved...Going well

Hi ,
Just thought i would let you know that the problem with the cramps has been resolved...Sea Salt was the answer, worked really well.(thanks Larysa)
I go for my second blood test this Wednesday and am looking forward to hopping on the scales in the morning.
I can feel that i have lost weight and visibly see it now. What a great feeling to sit down and not have a bulging tummy!!! AND to be able to fit into jeans that i haven't worn for so long, not to mention the ones i have NEVER put on before.
Friends are all aking what i am doing and how good i am looking....What a boost that is!Cannt wait to get down to my goal weight, still cann't imagine what i will look like.Guess i will have to be patient.
Love reading everyones diary's, some very inspirational stories amongst them.
Cheers
Col

Hi everyone,
Just dropping in before i head for bed.I have had a really busy day in the garden and cleaning out our garage, boy oh boy that must have burnt some calories, because didn't i enjoy lunch!!
4 litres of water was certainly easy today.
My better half, Ray was away today and came home to a sparkling garage (which he was very pleased about, until he goes to find something!!hahahah) And all the lawns whipper snipped and mowed......NOW you've got to be happy with that!
So i must admit i wont need any rocking to get to sleep tonight, mind you its wonderful to have all that energy.
One more day to go until my second blood test and weigh in, fingers crossed.
Cheers
Col ??????????

Hi Col,

Oh I see the Cohens magic is working. Clearing out the body - clearing out the garage! I have done the same - sent a skip load of stuff to the tip. Made donations to charities and sent some to friends. Good to be rid of all our rubbish on many levels. Well Done.

Thanks Shanara,
By rubbish i am hoping you mean fat!!
Today Ray and helped some friends move into their new home, unpaking boxes etc, lots of good fun with lots of laughs.I am hoping i have burnt some extra "rubbish", as tomorrow is weigh in for my 4th week ,measurements and second blood test.
They all got takeaways for lunch, and i must admit it looked good and the aroma was very tempting, but i am proud to say i stayed on the straight and narrow even though my mouth was watering!!
When we came home i cooked my lunch and was very satisfied and proud of myself for not giving in to temptation.
I had worked up an appetite, which made it difficult, but hey that's ok i survived .
Ok i will sign off and update you tomorrow ,
Cheers Col

Smile Yahooooooooo!!!!4weeks down the track

Hi everyone,
Well 4 weeks today !!! Sooooooo! first thing this morning, was Pee, and weigh!!!!!
I have lost 8.2 kilos and 44.5cm And i am absolutely wrapped.
It has taken me 30 years to find an eating plan that is sensible, convenient, and you actually enjoy it AND get results!!. Who could ask for anything else? Wish i had known about this in my 20's wahooooo! But doesnt matter, better late than never....
Getting on the scales this morning has made me more than determined to continue down the road to being slim. There hasn't been one day that passes, that my husband Ray doesn't pass me a compliment and that is just priceless to me, he can't speak too highly of Cohens ! So very shortly there will be a multitude of new comers from around our area i am sure..I look at different people when we are out and think IF only they knew how easy it is to lose that extra weight!!! Better try to fix my ticker now(this will be fun!)
Ok, iam signing off now to go and prepare our dinner.
Cheers
Col

Woohoo !! What a great result eh? Especially after so much time spent trying so many other things. Isn't it so good to find something so simple to implement - THAT WORKS !! Note, I didn't say easy! Some find it easy too, but not all. But it is simple, cheap, and EFFECTIVE - YOU are proof of that

Rock on, Col - and keep a lemon in your handbag from now on ('cos some situations in life require one to NOT be smiling - in those cases, you can sneak in a quick bite... ) Right now, I'd bet that you have a smile that you can't shift.

Well done - SO well done,

Koh
