Default How long does the extreme volatility last for?

A lot of us "baby maintainers" seem to be experiencing extreme volatility in our weight.

Flamie said something about that reducing with time, and AJ hinted the same.

For you "grown up" maintainers how long would you say it took before your body calms down and becomes less sensitive?

Your body doesn't change. It's you that starts to understand what you can and can't do with reagrds to food and drink.

It eventually becomes second nature and not something you think about all the time. It may seem that your body has lost the volatility but really it's just that you've become better at managing your body.

maybe the guys have this easier than us girls - we tend to over think things (well, I do at least) and that's part of the problem i believe. Just have to realize, you cant have your cake and eat it too...a hard lesson to learn, but a necessary one.

I still have extreme volatilty with my weight, but related to fluid retention and not something I attribute to Cohen. Unless you are continually making new highs with your weight it's likely to be fluid and hence weight gain is not really a problem. Personally, I don't process fluid so well on a busy day, and more carbs in a day also will retain more fluid. Maybe you could think back on what you did and ate when your weight goes up or down and look for common factors.

Back again to do it all over again, starting from exactly the same weight as last time.
My health is not good and my doctor is predicting all sorts of nasty things if I don't lose weight.
What else do I do? I help people make money and I help people save money. Please take a look at http://www.acnlinks.clancie.com.au/
Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

I was just listening to someone taking about weight loss. They commented that people say they "feel" hungry as if hunger was an emotion. He said that hunger is not an emotion but often people make it an emotion - hence emotional eating. I thought this actually made a lot of sense - how often do we eat due to an emotional situation that has nothing to do with our need for nutrition, hence why maintaining is often about much more than just following the regime but learning to deal correctly with life situations.

He also talked about making the choice to eat rather than the choice to be the slim person we could be. I thought this made a lot of sense if we think about who we deserve to be each time we go to put something in out mouth - ultimately the decision is always in our hands (or rather our mouths) Often easier said than done I know, but well worth contemplating I thought!
