Default Airfryer - Yes or No?

Should I get an airfryer? Is it really as awesome as it seems?

I have a limited time to be able to get it at a discount, so I'm wondering.

Thanks!

Oh...and my other question was - is it WORTH the amount of space it occupies? (Didn't realize it was pretty big)

I am biased because I love mine oh so much.

It really is basically a mini oven. It's good for entree things too... and does make some amazing looking fries/chips (I haven't had any but everyone was saying how crisp and crunchy they were), I also did some crumbed chicken in it for my nephew and he ate it in record time saying how delicious it was. haha.

I'm sure it's amazing for maintenance because you make treats in it without using as much oil...

There's one actually called an airfryer! Phillips airfryer. That's what I have.

I had a copy tefal one and it honestly wasn't the same.

The air fryer makes any oil you put in there airborne and it distributes it coating the food deliciously. haha. So, you use less... Plus, once it's cooked the left over all is at the bottom of the airfryer, so you never get that oily glug at the bottom of food. The whole thing is perfectly crispy. This is NOT diet food, but like if you use it to cook chips and stuff.

For our food, I use it like a mini oven... It heats up quick and cooks in a flash too. And makes things crispy.

I bought the Philips Airfryer a couple of weeks ago - I've only used it to cook nuggets and chips (had them before I started my programme) and I have used it a few times for my fiancé and newphew. They both loved the way the food was cooked (said it was very yummy. The nuggets and chips were from the freezer section I didn't have to add any oil at all.

I'm yet to start experimenting with my Cohen's food and the airfryer but I'm sure they will turn out great.
I would definitely recommend buying one.

*Bonus - it is soooooo easy to clean!*

I bought a Philips XL Airfryer (latest model (model No HD 9240) with the Baking Tray) from TVSN (look up the website or Philips website). It has made life SOOOOOOOO much easier. From TVSN, delivered to Perth with the Baking Tray cost just under $440.00 but well worth it. I used to have HUGE problems cooking but not now. One of the best things I have ever bought, basically made the oven and hotplate / pans redundant.

Does anyone have a preference between the black or the white air fryer? I had my heart set on the white one but only the black is available.

I don't think it matters... just depends on your kitchen decor. I have the white one, but wouldn't have minded the black. haha

Well the people at the store tell me that "the white one gets dirty". But that's because they ONLY have the black one.

LD, Reenna, does the white one show stains and such?

Ahh the back bit, where there is a vent does get a little grotty. Nothing a wipe over now and then won't fix.

Good feedback all. We sometimes do chips so maybe worth it, after Cohens.

Like what LD said, you just need to wipe it clean after every use and it's good as new. I sometimes take out the basket and put in a deep pan to bake apples. Got the idea from facebook Cohen Meal Creations. She has a lot of ideas for the airfryer!

Another tip - don't put the food directly in the basket. The grills are a pain to clean. Much easier if you have a flat non stick pan that fits the basket or just put foil.
