Default Tattoos and Weight-Loss

Hey guys I have noticed that a lot of people get tattoos for the end of their weightloss journey i have one in mind to get soonish but i was wondering if you had one when you were larger does it just look smaller after you've lost weight?

I thought if i am going to get one (first ever) on my hip area i would think it would hurt less if there is still some 'padding' over the bone. When i was close to goal last time most of me felt fairly bony and I still had 15kgs to go!

Any insight? Do words still look readable after a great deal of weightloss?
