Default ItsBennelongTime

Hello Everyone,
My name is Bennelong and now it is time for me to shed the kilo's and become the new me. I started the program on the 31/8/13, 5 days now and going strong. Have found it not as hard as I thought it would be. I guess in the end it is about making the decision and sticking with it. I have been reading alot of interesting stuff on the FORUM. So thought yeah I should start a DIARY.
My starting weight is 126kg, Im 36 and 195cm tall so my Cohens range should be 96 - 99kg. I have had this weight for a long long time. All through my teens and my eating habits have never been the best. I would always go for the easy quick fix but at the same time I enjoy eating everything I guess Im at the top of the food chain and was told never to waste food. So a terrible diet and lack of exercise has got me here
I have discovered so far that drinking all this water is making me feel amazing and the portions are really not that small and it is amazing feeling full after a satisfying meal. I enjoy cooking so having the challenge of what to make with so few ingredients makes it fun. Well till next time and Im not going to weigh myself for a the first weigh in. Feeling good

Congrats on joining the program!

So glad you got through first week without too many detox symptoms! Hopefully you don't have any evil ones lurking to catch you!.. Well I had a pretty grumpy couple of days and a headache, so that's my version of evil!

Most men find that they lose weight pretty quickly, so here's hoping that will be you! But, regardless, weight loss on this plan is pretty spectacular (even for the slow losers) compared to normal diets, so you are in the box seat!

My advise is ask questions, search the forum and reread your program and reread your program!

Welcome to the new you!
P.S. you are very tall!! Sorry...I'm sure you hear that a lot.

Welcome! Isn't it weird that we're told not to waste food but by eating it it's still wasted because it's more than we need! So silly!

Made 2 mistakes so far just realized I have the wrong curry powder and ate the wrong measurement of beef the other day for lunch.
Besides that all is going good... Going to Sydney tomorrow so will be interesting how that goes. Might go to the movies so no popcorn and movie food will be very different.

The adventure continues.. wait I feel a headache coming on yay lol

I love going to the movies - I pack a cracker allowance and slice up an apple to eat in there if the movie falls over snack time, and take a diet fizz in as well - I used to be the one to buy a choc covered ice cream, but I had to wait until the feature started before I could eat it. I don't miss it at all!

Are you going to weigh in at the end of your first week? Let us know how awesomely you have done if you do!

Hope you are finding the programme easy - I was really surprised that I wasn't more hungry, and how easy I found it (but I love rules).

Have a good one!

Welcome !

I used to always snack at the movies, but like McB, I now take my water, a diet soda and piece of fruit. Still enjoy all the smells of the popcorn around me, but never feel like actually having any. I sometimes wonder when I'm peeling my orange and the smell is wafting through the cinema if people notice the lovely smells of orange as they are shoving their hands into the popcorn box..... (i think they do)

Hope the rest of detox is kind to you.

Hello people, Yeah another day done yay... Still feeling good and 100% on track with Cohen's. finding that when mealtime approaches Im really satisfied and greatful for what I am consuming. Have had a few Headaches at night and some hungry pains, but I have my eyes on the end goal and all is good. This morning it was Yoghurt + mandarin for breakfast which was yummy but I cant wait for Mangoes to come in season in Australia. Yes going to Sydney and the movies will be interesting. My sisters Partners a Chef and would have loved to taste everything at his restaurant. But I guess that can all happen later. This time its all about me. Time to be selfish and do what's right for me and not just be a sheeplie. The movies oh yes no more Large Popcorn and Large coke and chocTop. The large popcorn I would share but still thats a lot of popcorn consumed in one sitting lol.

Last night my GF and my brother had Lamb chops, sweet potato mash, Broccoli, Carrots and Brussel Sprouts and I couldn't eat any of it It smelt so GOOD. We would eat alot of Lamb before.
I had my beef and apple curry without my naughty Keens curry powder was so yummy. Its all about being creative and trying new things.

Well to next time I will let you know how Sydney goes

Namaste Benne

What's good about not eating x. y. z right now is that when you finally can (during refeed) it's AMAZING!!!

I was a massive popcorn fan at the movies! I would dip my choctop in and pretty much eat a large by myself. My lips were like prunes by the end! haha. In refeed you can choose airpopped corn as your carb choice. Well... It was DELICIOUS! Just plain... As is. Nothing added. YUM!

Same goes for lamb... I just cooked it roasted and the taste was the best lamb I'd ever eaten!! haha.

You'll find that when you do go to try some of the old faves (like a choctop or any junky food) it will taste awful! Our taste bubs become very sensitive on this plan

Wow what can I say Cohen's is the best thing I have ever done for myself. Im loosing a Kilo a day. Really amazing stuff. Weighed myself this morning and down to 117.5kg from 126.7kg. Feeling so good.. I've never been so focused on anything before in my life. Crazy having clothes fit me again. Having crazy amounts of energy. The water intake is so good. Feeling hydrated 24/7. I have NO cravings what so ever. I just follow my prescription and watch the weight fly off. Amazing how it really is enough food until your next meal. And all this in 10days.

Well its all still going good... Only tiny deviations. like the wrong measurement eaten for one of my meals when I was to lazy to go and buy other stuff. maybe a few grams here and there of extra herbs for a bit more flavour. but never anything thats not on my list of approved foods. Starting to see big changes in my clothes. Not sure what to do, buy some new stuff now or wait until im at my goal weight. But I am finding clothes that I havent worn in a long time are fitting me now..
For the most part im only drinking water. but every now and then I will have a Black Coffee or a Green Tea and maybe a diet dry ginger ale.

Sometimes it does feel like an extra effort preparing meals and such but its all part of it and knowing that the weight is still falling off is enough to keep me going.

Oh and Im down to 114.8kg

Feeling good - Official weigh in and Blood test this Friday and Saturday

Yay Go Me
