Hi, I just discovered this forum! coz I am in need of a support system! I lost 5kg on my first month. No Deviation. No softdrinks or sweeteners.

Right now, I'm on Week 6 and at times I find myself deviating ( even consuming maximum allowance of diet sodas and sweeteners) and hate myself after it. When I checked I didn't lose any weight. My fault though - Any advice on how to control the food craving?

In Sept I'll be going to Korea, i worried that I'll deviate again coz it's my first time there and not sure what's available there? Any tips?

Hi lesli. I'm in week six too. I lost 5.4kg in my first 4 so we are about the same. I'm sorry that you've found yourself deviating. It's a horrible feeling when you do. I havent deviated with non cohens foods this time but have eaten a higher fat (even though very natural) yoghurt a couple of times and the occasional extra tsp of mayo in a day....but I remember from my first cohens journey the feeling. Do not feel bad about having the max of your soft drink or sweetener allowance, that's actually what it's there for...to help you along. Personally I only drink water and black coffee but I haven't drunk anything like juices or fizzy drinks diet or otherwise for years which make that part easy for me. If you need it to help you through though, that's what it's for.

Are you taking a chromium supplement? That really helps. Try blackmores sugar balance or natures own chromium picolinate. I use that one. Personally I take 2 tabs with each meal. That's quite a high dose. I've been on it for years so upped it by a lunch time dose for while I'm on here. It helps regulate the sugars in your blood by working on your insulin. It's like the natural antidote to sugar and it will help to control your cravings for sweet things.

As for Korea, it's one of the most healthy cuisines on the planet. I just asked my Korean home stay boy if it was easy to eat just meat and veg there without pre made sauces and he agreed. Just stay away from rice and noodles and really saucy foods...and anything that has a sweet sauce...

I'm wishing you all the strength and non-deviation-ness I can muster for you. Remember...take it one meal at a time. Spread your fruit and crackers over the day and be super organized. Let me know how you are going...do you have a diary yet? Maybe start one. It will help you keep accountable to yourself and we can all be cheering and encouraging you from the side lines...
This programme isn't a walk in the park, but if you keep at it you'll get into the zone and it will feel like one...

Best regards,
Bee
