I'm such a sci-fi/fantasy freak! Currently reading Lords of the Sky by Angus Wells and the Stone Key by Isobelle Carmody. The only thing wrong with the Stone Key is that when I finish it, I have to wait for the next book in the series!! I swear, patience is not a virtue, it's a waste of time!

Violet - The Iliad and Harry Potter? That's diverse reading lol!

Like you Mette I'm a sci-fi/fantasy freak. So whats the Stone Key like? I've read a couple of Isobelle Carmody's books and enjoyed them. Big David Eddings fan, also Melanie Rawn, Fiona MacIntosh, Sara Douglass and Raymond E Fiest!
But for something different I have been reading crime stories - James Patterson, Patricia Cornwall and at the moment - Grave Secrets by Kathy Reichs

Stone Key is actually really good, if you enjoyed the other books in the Obernewtyn Chronicles. It gets a bit long winded in a few places, but nothing that takes away the enjoyment of reading it. But why can't she hurry up and bring out the next one?? Ok, so Stone Key only came out about 6 months ago, but still!!

I would love to get into more David Eddings! I've only ever read one of his - the Pawn of Prophecy. Must get hold of the rest of the series!

I've just finished Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer, starting with Crime and Punishment by Dostoevsky. Oh and I am reading 'A new kid by Friday' by Leman too ...

Ahh Mette ... I have read all of David Eddings ... very cool .... if you like him try also Sheri S Tepper and Raymond E Feist .... Stephen Donaldson also (though he is a bit long winded).

I have also read all the twighlight books and my daughter is reading the Obernewtyn Chronicles .. she recommends Tamora Peirce.

Rereading my favourite...' The Time Traveller's Wife'... by Audrey Niffenegger, - the movie is due for release next month and 'Truth vs Falsehood - How to tell the difference' by Dr. David R Hawkins, which is one of the most fascinating books I have ever read, although is heavy going and makes me feel somewhat dim.

*Sigh - Books are my friends.

Oh, The Time Traveller's Wife is one of my all-time favourite novels! I just love it. I've just read Q&A by Vikras Swarup, and about to read The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz, then Brida by Paulo Coelho (who I also love).
Claire.

Claire...I adore Paulo Coelho, and was talking to a friend about something I read in 'Brida', today. Didn't read Q & A - I was lazy and waited for the movie.

nice thread I just finished InkSpell, but only really reading that series for the sake of wanting to know what happens in the end, I'm not in love with it. Thinking about revisiting the Twilight series for about the 5th tiime and haven't read my Harry's for a while. I should really venture out and buy a new book, I want to read The Time Travellers Wife

Before I do anything though I should re-read my program

I have just finished Christos Tsiolkas ( spelling?) The Slap, brilliant Australian author. This books examinse the ramifications and impact that a smack on a child has on seven different people. Sounds a bit odd, but totally brilliant. Best I have read in a while

What I read varies a great deal. For my studies I have to do a lot of very heavy reading, but in between when I need a break, I love Jilly Cooper (Polo, Riders, Rivals, The Man Who Made Husbands Jealous, Appassionata, Score, Wicked). Right now though I am on one of Alexander McCall Smith's books from the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series- Teatime for the Traditionally Built.

Ah Missusb, I reread the last one in the twilights, I'm probably getting to the stage where I can recite the whole thing - a bit sad (me), but totally gripping (the books).

Also finished 'Good Omens' by Neil Gaiman & Terry Pratchett. In dire need of something new and interesting.

Claire in Brisbane - have you read 'Brida' yet?

Later, bookwormies

Next in line is The Analyst - John Katzenbach, another of my fave Authors.

The Lovely Bones is also a FAB book, haven't read it for a while, but would reccomend it to anyone.
