Faithy's words are just so inspiring, understandable, emotional - pretty much a soliloquy (sp?), but you can just imagine how much OTHERS get from her words to herself - just check out the replies, both before and after this gem from Faithy, and you'll get some idea.....

In fact, maybe I should've posted the whole diary !! (hehe, sometimes it's hard to know when to call it quits - ah well, decisions, decisions )

Kagiesen was replying to a post from one who seems to be struggling with the old maxims (e.g. exercise to lose weight, food pyramids, etc.) and comparing them to Cohens. Which way should they turn? Is Cohens too good to be true? etc....

we all have days like these sometimes....especially early on in the program. Believe me if you can avoid deviating at all costs the program becomes so easy it is almost scarey!! But these new skills take time...move on with the thought of knowing it does get easier as you get into the zone

So simple, so true - so scarey (?) Mmm, maybe not - but then again... Still, a gem none-the-less - and hopefully really helpful to a new chum,

This gem is a MUST for new readers, or those "thinking about" doing this Cohens diet.

Melissa has just shared what has obviously become SUCH a life-changing revelation for her - she was thinking back to when she started .... Wait, I'll let HER tell you :-

Went shopping and bought a few bargains at the Target sale again yesterday so am very happy and am impressed that I am finding size 8 a good fit in most things.

Hard to believe that six months ago I was still under the impression that I would be a big girl and resigned myself to the fact that I should just be happy with my lot. You know health and fitness etc. No major complaints other than size.

Wow, all that has changed and I would never have believed it if I was told it would happen. Truely amazing. You know we really are lucky people to have Dr Cohen that is so passionate about us that he devotes his time and expertise to our cause.

Thanks for putting it out there Melissa - keep on "daring", girl - it is SO close now

I only say what I am feeling Ko but thanks and yes it's just a little way up the road when you think of where I've come from. Who'd have guessed that 'this little slip of a thing' my husbands favorite saying at the moment ever had a weight issue. I am just in awe of what has been achieved even if I do say so myself.

Some days I just keep looking in the mirror because I'm sure that the person looking back at me is a figment of my imagination.

There is not other better place to be than here and I would never have got this far without the likes of you. Thanks from the bottom of my heart. You are one very special person.

Did it help? Umm, yep - in SPADES !!! Check out the diary posts following Pandora's post - it seems to me that the message got through, Sharlene took it to heart, and now she is on fire !!! Dropping weight like it's out of fashion !!

Amazing what positive encouragement can do, mixed with a garnishing of tough love. But then, that's our Pandora - she tells it as she sees it, but always says it so nicely, even if it's a bit tough. Well worth a read, and another gem - go Pandora

And one especially for newer readers (but doesn't HAVE to be - we can all learn from it) is this gem from Andy46

To all the people just starting on Cohen's - give it your best shot - it is worth the effort - stay 100 % to be fair to yourself and the program - it will and does work much better than lots of other weight plans - so focus and do what you have to do. You will see results very soon - if you commit 100%.

To those that are into it - stick at it you will go from strength to strength and suddenly there is a huge light at the end of the tunnel just drawing you along to the end.

this is my all time favourite thread. even though at wk 16 i dont feel like i need constant motivation and support, i read this thread and i think 'god that is so true' or 'yep that is me sometimes.'

i love the way the support just keeps coming, even when you feel strong.

Thanks Koh - the locals are baffled and are now laughing that they can't pick me - every day I explain the diet plan etc to someone and now they come to the office to look - but they will soon know me - just soon enough !!!!!!!

This thread is a gem in itself as you do draw some of the finer points to it for all to read.

This post just talked to me today - not sure it's a gem per se - seems more like GOLD to me. Here's a tempter:-

I realise now more than ever, even though I'm sure I've said this before.. food to me is like drugs to a druggie or alcohol to the alcoholic .. I will always have these emotional issues, so I just have to continue to stay strong & be totally honest with myself.. I need to keep my drive, I need to stay positive & I need to stay away from foods that are poison to me, the foods that make me fat..
I'm still 100% deviation free & I'm so proud of myself for that. I have NEVER in my life felt so strong & in control. My thoughts are just thoughts, they don't make me who I am. What I do with those thoughts is what makes me me.

Hehe - funny how the mind works (well, SOME minds anyway :P ) but as I was formulating this post, I pondered over the fact that this gem came from a lady with so few posts. And my mind wandered to a joke I heard way back when I was at school. Here it is (you'll understand why I posted it afterward):-

My sisiter came up with a great return comment - ask them where they were when you were putting the weight on, they never said "I think you have put on enough weight now, you should stop" !!
