I'm sorry to hear about your family's loss Vee... I hope that the funeral goes as well as those things ever can. I'm so glad to hear your tests all came back okay though! And on the deviation front, I had my first deviation on Tuesday night. I can relate to a lot of what you said... and like you, I've gotten straight back on the program, ready to deal with the consequences and just keep on rockin'. For the first time since I started Cohen's, now I can relate to the emotions you have been feeling since you deviated. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. BUT it sounds as though you've done a lot of thinking and assessing and have come away with a good understanding and I believe a stronger resistance for the next time those old demons show their heads*HUGS* I'm so glad the scales are behaving themselves... and I am sure they'll be inching you towards your goal again VERY soon!

Hey pretty lady, I'll be studying right along with you! Although my exams aren't till 24 November, last one on 1 December. You'll do really well, I'm sure of that!
Keith and I will actually be in Brisbane from 5-9 December. Will you be around then? It would be fun to catch up! Take good care, hope tomorrow goes ok. I don't like funerals. They make me sad...

Hi Vee, isnt it funny how we are so sensitive to nice smells- even when its something we are not that interested it! I was walking through the shops today smelling the popcorn stand, I thought to myself I love that smell and I will just enjoy the smell without any thought of eating any. As soon as I passed I forgot about it - often just a transitory thing

wk 35 day 2
Time is a-speeding by, and I feel like I'm stuck. Weight is not doing anything except go up and down and TOM has arrived as well, with the usual horrible headaches! It's all such a struggle again at the moment.
Yesterday (Friday) at work I managed to resist morning tea with chips and dip and cream sponge cake, as well as refreshments at the funeral of brownies, scones and cream, pikelets and cream and various other such refreshments (what is with that term, as that food does not refresh at all???) I was so glad I was strong, and even resisted alcohol with a big family get together after the funeral, but I still felt really low. Just feel like I'm stagnating and nothing I'm doing is making any difference. I know my body is catching up with getting back into equilibrium, and I know with TOM everything seems to do its own thing, but I just can't seem to shake this feeling. At least I can devote a lot of time to me this coming week, as I'm off work for a week to study and do my exam and then to have a couple of ME days! I do have to say, besides not giving in to all those temptations this week, I had another good moment. I'm very proud of my boy, he went for his first job interview last week (a group interview) and he was offered the job and went in today for training. He is 14 and he will be doing casual Christmas holiday work for a major record/cd/dvd store here in Brisbane. I'm so proud of him for all that he has done to achieve what he wanted! Ok, better get back to the study. Vee |

wk 35 day 3
I feel more rested today! I've been trying to focus on studying for the past day or so, but it has not been going too well, still too many other things happening at the moment that I needed to attend to. Today I plan to get into it more, but also need to do some grocery shopping, and need to start thinking about doing some Christmas shopping too, but I think I can put that off until after Wed (exam day).
I definitely like Shanara's perspective on plateauing as it is a time of "integration" for our bodies, a time when our bodies are dealing and adjusting with all the changes we have made since losing weight. Funnily enough, it struck a chord with me and has helped to settle down the negative emotions I was feeling about this part of the journey. I know that feeling more rested today has also made a difference, and I'm really glad I have some time off work next week for this study and time to just catch up with me again. Thanks for dropping by Sheree and Ruby! Sheree, my son was doing army cadets for the last 2 years, and I know that is one of the reasons that he did so well in getting this job. It does them so much good and teaches them very valuable skills. Ruby, thanks, I feel I'm looking more presentable and I can't get over how my butt shape especially has totally changed! I'm loving it as it has disappeared compared to how it used to be! I feel so much better, and I want to know what it will feel like to get to goal too, so I'm pushing on to the end! You are doing pretty well yourself! Hope you are giving yourself the accolades you deserve too!! Have a love relaxing weekend everyone! Vee |

Hi Vee, my son was an Air Force Cadet for 8 years too and he got his first job with ease (he's a graphic designer and been with the same company for 4 years now since leaving school) and he's just getting promotions, pay rises and bonuses left right and centre! I think being a cadet gives them discipline, keeps them grounded and I guess most importantly keeps them off the streets and away from bad influences while going through those formative teenage years! I'm so proud of him as you are of your boy

Hi Vee, sorry I have not written in your diary for a couple of days - busy kids makes a busy mum.
I so look up to you, you have lost so much like I need too. You are an inspiration to me. The struggles of having different food brought in by other family members can be very hard. Like when my Daughter wants to cook a cake or both kids want a donut when we are at the shops. As Louise said we want it while we can smell it, see it, hear it and after it has gone we forget it. How true that is. I remember when I got my first "real" job at coles - it was the best thing. I worked hard and earnt money wow what a concept. I also met some lovely people and loved serving customers. Just think he will probably get you a chrissy present you haven't had to pay for.... Hope you have a great week and the scales are kind to you. Keep up the good work cause as I said I look up to you & admire you. Jo

Hi Vee
You should concentrate on yourself until after that exam on Wednesday. TOM and exam stress would n ot be helping you. I would put money on the fact it will just be a matter of time until you are on here celebrating another loss. We see it with so many so often. You better take some panadol and get rid of those headaches real quick, not conducive to good study, Best of luck with Wednesday and I know that loss will come - I myself was not long ago lamenting a plateau and then overnight it all changed - hang in there Vee and just for good measure a little fairy dust to push you along |

Love the new avatar. Looking really good in there. Sorry to hear you are on PI again. That place just isn't any fun at all!!!! Won't be long and the stress from exams and TOM is finished and watch that drop again. Hold strong, you got through the last one, you can get through this one too. We know you can. Take it easy and enjoy some sunshine Katie |

Funny thing yesterday! I think it must be a psychological thing with knowing I've got this week off work, as it is the first time in months that I have not felt so dead tired all day! Have to admit, I didn't get much study done, cause did the grocery shopping and had lunch out etc. It felt sooooo good not to be so tired.
Today though, a quick post on here and maybe one or two diaries (just to see how some people are doing) and it will be head down and bum up to study, as only have 3 days left to study for exam. I've also got my eye test this morning, and I'm sure my eyes have deteriorated in the last 2 years a fair bit. It will be interesting. Thanks for the visits Jenny, Honeybuns, Jens Mum, Louise, Katiefrank and Shell. It's always great to read your lovely, supportive posts and to have a nice pick-me-up because of them! I think I'll go back to my weekly weigh-in on Fridays, so will post on Friday if there is any progress in that department. Maybe if I give my body a chance without hounding it, it might be a bit more co-operative! Hope you all have a fantastic week! Vee |

Hey pretty lady! Hope you're getting lots of studying done! I'm sorry to hear you've been struggling, but glad that you've gotten yourself back into the zone. Not feeling tired helps soooo much! My weightloss is really slow at the moment too, most likely because I'm not sleeping. Or maybe it's waiting for you?
Congrats on your son getting the job! That's excellent! I think you're right about the army cadets teaching them some really valuable skills! Hope you have a wonderful week!

wk 35 day 5
I couldn't resist this morning, hopped on the scale, and there is some movement at last!! Big sigh of relief! Down 700g! Wooooo hooooooooo!!! Dancing a jig for joy!!
So my post is not going to be long today, I've been procrastinating with study, it's going so slow, and nothing seems to be going in, it's like my head is full up and nothing more can be added. A bit frustrating, but will keep at it. I keep telling myself, this is the VERY LAST ONE!! Thanks so much for the visit Mette and Shanara! Mette, I've finally caught up with you, so you can get back to dropping your weight again!! Shanara, I've often thought the very same thing about my son, and I think it's a natural reaction. Things will work out eventually. Happy losing everyone! Vee |
