Re: Sangi's Diary
My consultant recommended that i use biotin shampoo and take supplements which have biotin in them. inspite of that my hair is falling at an alarming rate.maybe i should wait for the medication to do its trick. i'm just two kgs to get to the 70's.can't wait. hopefully i complete the programme b4 my b'day in oct. i just read the note by SMS in the maintenance section. It had such clarity.he summarised the cohen diet very beautifully.Yes It is a Lifestyle Change.meaning, even after my programme and refeeding and as long as i shall live , i'will never eat the same way i did b4 i began the diet. It is a commitment i'm making to myself, i deserve that much. |

Re: Sangi's Diary
Good for you Sangi, you can SO do this!
Don't worry too much about your hair at this point - once you are on re-feed the process will reverse itself. In my case it is not the hair so much as the nails! They were never strong to start with and are a lot worse now :-p. Never mind, this is all temporary, until the weight is gone, and we proceed with our new lifestyle of eating properly for the rest of our lives .

Re: Sangi's Diary
Had a weak moment at the cinemas yesterday.I had a bag full of peanuts in my bag for the family.and i ended up eating a few, say about 10-15 pcs. i knew it was going to slow down my wt loss and still went ahead and did it.
But i should say, i didn't think they tasted that good. so that's a consolation, cause it didn't make me feel that i am missing out on these foods. My tummy feels a little funny now. have to wait and see how my losses are affected |

Re: Sangi's Diary
Finally, cleared my cupboard of all the clothes that are too big for me. Now my cupboard is empty, all ready for a new set of clothes.
Am borrowing hand me downs from my 16 year old, which in itself is a huge acheivement for me.borrowing skirts, jeans and some t-shirts for now.The other day i went to buy some clothes and chose some to try on, the salesgirl, came up and told me that i should go for a smaller size of the particular clothing.THAT WAS THE FIRST TIME EVER THAT I'VE BEEN ASKED TO GO FOR SMALLER SIZES.just can't explain the feeling.,i wass sooo happy i left the shop looking like a cheshire cat. Hopefully agt the ends of nxt week i will be in the 70's. am goin to the cinema tonight again, and am planning to sneak in my crackers,so i don't deviate like last fri. |

Re: Sangi's Diary
I searched for most places in Singapore - there is no Sprite Lite or Zero. There is 7-up light which can sometimes be seen at Marketplace at Tanglin Mall. Its $1.20 for a 330ml can which is very expensive! Hence I stick to Coke Zero and office pantry stocks it too.

Re: Sangi's Diary
I just added green chillies into my tuna salad today because we ran out of red chillis. I just saw that note from WSM about green chillies too, so really it will be my first time today. Feeling apprehensive about it though. Maybe green chillies mean differently in Australia but its really like green capsicum here in Singapore right? I am not too sure too but will see how tonight's dinner of tuna salad go.
I had a super slow week last week and was abit frustrated but I know its due to my ovulation (I get similar slow weight loss when its ovulation).

Re: Sangi's Diary
WOOHOO,I'm finally in my 70's .
it has been 16 loong years, since i've been this small.there are no words to describe this feeling Met firefox yesterday.oh boy she looks amazing! She has completed refeed and is maintaining wonderfully. A great inspiration to me. Eating only oranges as my fruit allowance for the past week has proven expensive , i'm down with a sore throat and runny nose.looks like my sinus is acting up. Friends and Family have begun to tell me to stop the programme as they are not used to seeing me this small. But i have decided to ignore their advices.i have wanted this for sooo long and am not giving up no matter what. Now i have to enjoy the rest of the journey. |

Re: Sangi's Diary
Hi Koh,
Thanks a lot for the encouragement.and you are spot on,it is their own opinions and they are entitled to them, and i simply don't care anymore. I hear a lot of "it's enouf, you can stop now" or " you don't look gud ,when you are thin". Am totally ignoring them.I know how i feel .These people were not there for me when i was panting my heart out, running for the bus.or when i got pins and needles in the middle of the night cause of poor blood circulation,or when tht beautiful dress in the shop window didn't come in my size,or when i had to wear drab looking shoes cause delicate ones wouldn't fir me or when the person nxt to me on the bus was fidgeting cause there was no space for him/her. I remember all these instances so well that i give all my detractors a huge smile.and walk away with my head held high, knowing i've finally taken charge of my life and have done so successfully. I do have a few friends, who complement on the way i look and cheer me on.And my eldest daughter is my greatest supporter. And ofcourse this forum and fellow cohenites.A BIG THANKYOU |

Re: Sangi's Diary
It has been quite a long time since i posted.
My weight loss has been slow, may be due to my erractic sleep times , stress at work and travel.Although i've been Deviation free, the wt loss has been slow. Hopefully it will settle down from now on, as i don't have immed travel plans. My mom was so shocked to see my photos, and was very worried for me'.it goin to take some time for people around me to get used to the new ME. Went for a blood test recently, the regular one at my GP. the results were amazingly good. they were way better than 10 years ago and my GP was extremely happy for me. All my clothes have become too big for me , have to allot a weekend to alter them. What a great problem to have |

Re: Sangi's Diary
Hi Sangi,
Welcome to the "pointy end" of the journey !! The earlier walk might've seemed slow, but this next bit should delight. Even if you DON'T lose any more Kgs per week, you'll start to see huge differences as your body settles in to where it "was always meant to be" !! And the change can be astonishing !! Each Kg lost will seem to make SO more difference than previous Kgs did (specially the earlier ones). Just sit back, keep taking your medicine, and ENJOY, Sangi. Not so far to go now, eh? Rock on, darl, Koh
