Hi again AJ. 24kgs lost is just brilliant and I am so like you in that I am now seeing the amount to go rather than the amount lost.

Just wait till you get down towards the end, boy are you in for a good time. Buying clothes that you like as you see them, not having to go automaticaly to the 'big' stuff. And believe me it makes one feel so much more sexier to be slim.

I am just so loving this weight loss.

Dont like the fact people saying to me, Oh I know someone who lost lots of weight on that diet and then put it all back on. Not me.....

I will never never get back to where I was, and I know you will be just the same. Never again, I have really learnt that I would rather be slim than have that extra party pie, or box of chips, or more than one or two drinks. etc etc

WOW AJ! Great losses the last couple of days! I'm so happy for you. I can really feel you breathing down the back of my neck!
Ah, really hope your hubby is happy and healthy again soon. Having a snotty and miserable hubby isn't fun at all - it may explain your losses though... if your hubby is anything like mine, the running around making endless cups of tea, fetching medicines, boiling hot water bottles, etc. is bound to shift some grams

Take care.

Soooo sooo happy for your weightloos AJ! This must be amazing seing so much drops every day???

And you are doing so well, I know how much you love wine and working in winery..oh, God... Luckily I only like one wine so far, and it's soooo far away now (back home) and could easily have any bread over it...

But working with vines and resisting them....good job, really really!!! You will see later what a strong character this diet makes, too!!!!! Thanks for stopping in my diary, your advises are always so precious to me!!!

My NYF Diary
Default Day 5, Week 22

Same as yesterday. I was just getting used to those daily falls. My cms seem to be decreasing too.

I bought new underwear yesterday. I was being fitted and telling the woman I had lost 24 kgs. She asked how long and I told her five months. Her eyes opened, her jaw dropped and she gulped. It looked so funny. I bought bras and pants a size smaller than I am, as I can get into them now, and I'll soon shrink to that size.

Off to the winery today. Hopefully, I'll be able to spend the day in the office, although there always seems to be something that has to be done as a matter of urgency.

Thanks for posting, shell, Tracey, Kate, Jeannie, Connie, Barb, fit girl, Cheral, BFG, bitten, Maya and Macresco. I'll be back tonight to respond to you individually.

I hope everyone has a lovely day.

AJ

Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

AJ, bet it felt good to buy new underwear. I have only grabbed a couple of bras and I think it's time for some new undies.
I was even thinking of taking my old ones in on the sides..LOL

What a day. I'm exhausted. I won't go into details, but life at the winery can be pretty stressful at times. No visitors at all today, so that part was quiet, and I was alone for the afternoon, which is the way I like it.

My husband is still feeling quite low, coughing and spluttering, and generally weak, but getting better. The test is tomorrow -- golf day. Not too sure how my father is. I spoke with him today, the infection has gone and he sounds okay, but my brother sent a text message saying that he will be in hospital for a few more days, and the doctor says his heart is getting weaker all the time. I'm not sure whether that means in the time he's been in hospital or over a longer period and my brother seems to have his phone turned off. We did sell the car that we advertised at the weekend, pleased to have a big car (Commodore) sell so quickly given the current publicity about the price of oil.

Okay, replies that I didn't have time for this morning.

Shell, yes, bargains, but not very interesting. Just underwear. With luck, this will do me through the diet and hopefully beyond.

Tracey, people and their dogs are a never ending source of stories. Yours is so funny. I don't like popcorn much, so no problems there. There's a book called You Just Don't Understand Me by Deborah Tannen about the ways that men and women speak. I'm not sure if it's still in print, but you might like to read that too if you can get hold of a copy.

Thanks, Kate. At times it seems so slow, but I'm 4 kgs past half way, and it doesn't seem long since I reached the halfway point.

Caught up a bit over the weekend, Jeannie. Be nice if it continued.

Thanks, Connie. Will you attend all the conferences if your papers are accepted? Are the papers for work type conferences or academic conferences. Yes, I do know how it is.

You can dance round me, Barb. I never was much good at dancing, and these days I'm incredibly uncoordinated.

Thanks, fit girl.

Cheral, I really don't see why people seem to blame the diet when someone loses weight then puts it all back on again. I certainly have no intention of ever putting back 40 kgs. You must be getting very excited by now with refeed so close.

Thanks, BFG. Hubby is still not well as I said above. However, I'm the world's worst nurse when it comes to waiting on a sick person, so he's mostly had to look after himself.

I think perry might be pear cider, bitten. I would have liked to try this to see if it did taste like champagne or if it was just sparkling apple juice. We'll have to go back after refeed. Yes, it's really nice to be able to go out and eat a meal without having to prepare it myself.

Thank you, sweet Maya. I love my wine, so this enforced many months without any is probably doing me good. I said to my husband when I arrived home tonight that I would probably have had several glasses today and this evening if I was able to drink wine, after the day I had.

Thank you, Macresco.

Pants were getting a little loose, Erica, but still wearable. They seem to be able to expand and shrink with me. It was the bras that really needed replacing, particularly the ones that undo when my shoulders go back.

So funny, Penny. Classical 'double take' response. I wished I could have filmed her expression.

I'm off to check out the other diaries now, may not get round them all tonight.

AJ

WOW AJ,

You are going to need to find some more goals. your last goal listed is gonna be broken by the end of the week I'll bet. You are right. It's not been that long since you hit the half way mark and now your are 4kg past it. Pretty neat how the thinking changes once past the half way mark isn't it. It used to be I've lost ........ Now it's I've ONLY got ....... left to go!

You are just truckin' on. Today is just a lull in the process!

My NYF Diary
Default Day 6, Week 22

Up 200 gms today. I thought I would have been okay today, the number of toilet visits I had yesterday evening, but no. Should be back to normal tomorrow. I have a fairly quiet day today, gym, a couple of errands in Geelong and what I hope will be a quick visit to a client just back from holidays and wanting help with getting back online at home.

I've just read asy's post here http://newyouforum.com/forum/showpos...83&postcount=7 on refeed and found it very informative and helpful. For anyone who may not have visited the thread, it's definitely worth reading.

My husband is a little better, not coughing today, and off to golf. He's amazed at how I've managed to avoid his cold. He's been dosing himself with single malt whiskey, so cold remedies are expensive in our house.

SMS I have so many mini goals, particularly when I include kgs, stones and lbs, that I might have trouble putting them all into the limited lines available. I'll look at them later today and see if I can put them all in. Might make it more interesting than just putting in 70 kgs as the next goal. Yes, I'm much more positive about it all now that I've changed the focus. It doesn't seem as long to go watching numbers getting smaller rather than watching them getting bigger.

Have a lovely day everyone.

AJ

hey aj, asy's post is soooo true...

i experienced hunger that made me feel sick...it got worse and worse over the week i waited for refeed....and i was 100% and i didnt lose any more weight in that week...

in fact i have been a kilo either side of 68kgs for about 7 weeks now....

and my goal was 63-66kgs.....

i have had concerns that i should have dropped to 66 but then it dawned on me that i was obsessing about numbers...ya gotta listen to ya body....

so my plan is to see if my weight fluctuates too much (it hasnt so far) and then if i need to i will go back on the program for 1 month, and do the whole refeed again....

one thing i would add though....is not everyone recognises the hunger pangs as being hungry....there are so many emotional variations to hunger that people who are overweight have developed that it can be the case that some mistake the physical feeling for an emotion....

its a complicated business this weight loss caper....

your so insightful aj that you wont miss it...lol

Hi Aj,

Isn't it funny how hubby recovers in time for golf

The rest of my family have had colds this year even my husband who rarely gets a cold, but I haven't come down with anything. I usually get a sore throat and cough if someone else in the family has it but nothing this year ....touch wood.

I was interested in Asy's post because I didn't experience the hunger and was nearly at my lowest Cohens goal weight. I suppose the good thing with this program is if we want we can go back on the plan and get to that stage that she talks about - metabolic equilibrium.

Cheers

Tuti

Evening AJ

Love reading your diary each day, I have made the changes to my computer and now not being bumped.
One thing I love about this diet and a thought you wrote to someone, is the certainty that if we are sticking to the diet, its just not possible NOT to lose. And on the days I stay the same that keeps me going, just a matter of waiting for the day its gonna happen.
It does get harder as you get down but the same principle applies, it HAS to come off and if it didnt today, then perhaps it will tomorow. Its actually fun waiting for that day to happen. I have taken heaps from your positive attitude and do thank you so much for being so articulate and insightful in your writings.

Hope tomorrow is your day - oh and mine too!!
