Wanting non program foods..help?
I am coming close to the end of my third week on the program. I get these strong feelings wanting to eat something off the program. My mind says I want that muffin, but the tastebuds are saying it really isn't worth eating because I don't recognise that taste anymore. What is it? It's like I am always having an argument with my conscience and my tastebuds. It feels like a vicious cycle and it's also very tiring. Does anyone have any answers to this? Over time does this feeling go away as your body completely balances out or is it more a bad habit that is trying to reverse itself? Getting rid of them from my kitchen isn't the answer, because my husband is not on the program and I don't want him to feel deprived of any of his favourites. |

Re: Can anyone shed some light on this???
It's habit.
Like licking the spoon when you're cooking, and tasting things as you go along. Early in the programme I caught myself a number of times with the spoon half way to my lips before stopping. Trust me, Resistance is NOT futile. asy

Re: Can anyone shed some light on this???
Hi,
I've got a bad habit Too! Mine is eating at night after everyone has tea....I would sneak anything of thier plates, before I scrape them!!!! So now I have a shower, so my stomach is settled and the kids to scrape!! (so they should too) You have to find that extra willpower and replace it with something else.......bloody hard!!! Kept going though, make a mistake get over it and move on helen |

Re: Can anyone shed some light on this???
hi cohenite,
i also found it extremely difficult in the first month with cravings, try taking chromium vitamins (that does help a lil bit). in my case that urge to just "dig in" to any sugary treat has subsided a bit, so i fo think that it's just a temporary feeling, after all ur still somewhat in a detox phase, both mentally and physically. It is hard, but just the fact that u considered doing the program shows how strong u are: you're so much better than that silly muffin! Evave

Re: Can anyone shed some light on this???
Thanks everyone for your responses. It's interesting to see how others have dealt with it. Evave, so close to the end! Well Done!! I am now in week 10 and my cravings for sweet food have gone out the window. The program has really taught me how to change my thinking and to make not only healthier choices but serious lifelong choices! For me, that is why I was so fat. I made choices that kept me fat!
