Default How long do you have to be "deviation free" to start refeed?

Hi Cohen's graduates,

Just wondering how long you have to be "deviation free" before you start refeed?
I am about 10kg off top end of goal weight, and I am realy struggling at the moment- just seem to be thinking of when I can next eat, ALL day!
I seem to be obsessing at the moment, most time I find it really easy & automatic, but I seem hungry at the moment

I am SO close, and I WILL get there!!
Thanx Shell

Hi Shell,
From memory it is 2 weeks.
I got to exactly the same stage as you and began refeed... But I think I began too early. and now I'm back trying to get back down to 70kg!!
Make sure you are spacing your foods out through the day. Use the diet soft drink allowance to fill you up a bit. try to move the meals around a bit to get you thru the day without deviating... and hopefully the Sprint will help as well!!

Thanks Pen,
I have b/fast 7.30, 1 cracker 9.30, 2 cracker 12'ish, lunch 1-1.30, 1 fruit either before the 2 crackers or after lunch, another fruit 4'is and 2 crackers 6 and then tea 7.30'ish.
I drink at least 3 litres of water a day, and as i've never been a big soft drink fan i have started drinking solo sub & recently pepsi max, because I dont drink tea or coffee either.
Hopefully because I'm hungry I might be due for a decent weight drop!

Hi Sha22y
it is only 5 crackers a day for me, would love more crackers & less fruit- but I am really enjoying the juicy nectarines at the minute.
I will be very sad soon when they finish

Weird..I posted this over in another thread but my consultant said there isn't a rule on being so many days deviation free and people can start refeed when they want... alot of different info out there

My guess would be about the 'deviation free' thing is that if you are deviating you may experience 'hunger' as a side affect which is a 'false' indication that you have approached your natural goal weight...so it makes sense to me.

hi hexi, my clinic sad the same thing... although it went more like

Me: "How long are you supposed to be deviation free before starting refeed. I have read that it's about 2 weeks"
Cinic: "well you should be deviation free anyway if you're following the plan"
Me: "Yes but I'm talking about the unavoidable deviations - going out for dinner, wrong vitamins etc"
Clinic: "There really is no time frame but you want to make sure everything is in order by about 10 days before starting refeed"

so... there ya go...

Default Deviation Free Time Before Refeed?

Hello everyone!
Im sure my consultant mentioned being 1 week deviation free before starting refeed, but I just wanted to confirm that as Im sure Ive read somewhere that its 2 weeks?
2kg below my goal weight, I deviated (for a few days away on hols) and have been back onto Cohens for 1 week. I have lost the weight I gained and plan on doing another week before refeed but in the case that Im "ready" before hand, can I start refeed?
Thanks

Hey there,

I was always told you have to go two week DF before you start refeed. Not sure what to do since you are already below your goal weight. But as far as the amount of time I do believe it is two weeks DF.

Hi Khyla..

I've double checked for you & the minimum is 7 days.. 2 weeks is considered better..

Thanks for looking into that for me...guess that explains the different opinions/recommendations.

Am 3 days away from 2 weeks so will continue till then.

Thanks again everyone.
