10kgs in 6 weeks!!!
I know its been a while since I posted - wow what a difference 3 months can make... As many of you will know... I got married on 1 March this year to a gorgeous fireman... we had an amazing honeymoon in Italy and France for six weeks (right at the end of my refeed). Anyway, I hit 60kgs before the wedding and planned to come back from Europe and go hard on maintenance... On our return from the honeymoon I have had a horror couple of months - I found a lump in my breast and had to have a lumpectomy, I've been getting grief from my boss and ultimately have resigned, then 2 weeks after my operation, my 21 year old cousin was killed in a car accident... It turns out that my control over my obsession with food and my positive mental attitude wasn't anywhere near as strong as I thought. As a result I have been punishing myself with food and have put on 10kgs. Now - lets get one thing straight - I take 100% responsibility for my gain... I've always said that it is our reaction to certain events which dictates the outcome. So, even though I've had a bad run lately.. my reaction to these events has put me in the spot I am today! And I intend to take action to get me back to my wonderful 60kg self! I'm looking for some partners in crime who are willing to race against me to drop the 10kgs. I start my new job in 6 weeks and I thought it would make it interesting to see if I could pull it off before then! I'm planning on posting my weight and measurements on a Monday afternoon (which means that anyone who wants to join me can weigh in on a Friday, Sat, Sun or Mon morning and post theirs by Monday afternoon as well). So, if there's anyone out there who is ready for this challenge and would like to see if you can beat me to the crown - then let us know you're in! Jackie x |

I'm In
Hi Jackie
I was hoping for a new challenge and this is perfect. Count me in. I weigh on a Thursday but I can post here on the Friday no probs. Sorry to hear about your rough time, glad to hear your back on the forum where you know there's so much support. My starting weight is 77.7 kg and I'll post this week's weight on Friday. Or do you want to start on Monday? Either way is fine by me, just take my next posts weight as my start weight. x Loulou

Loulou and Louise...
Thanks for taking up the challenge with me... and thanks for your kind words... I'm definitely ready to take on this 10kg and win! I'll post my weight tomorrow afternoon as I'm going to make my weigh in day Monday. Louise your weigh in day is Friday and Loulou same for you, so you start date can be 20/06/08 and my start date will be 23/06/08. That means that the finish date will be 1/08/08 for you guys and for me will be 4/08/08. Starting weight for Louise is 92.9kgs and for Loulou its 77.7kgs. Is this ok with you both? Also do you want to post measurements too? Louise - you said that you're in a hotel for 6 days and so it will be a challenge for you... but I bet going up against Loulou and I will help keep you focused and motivated... hopefully we can all drop the 10kgs in 6 weeks! I'll post my start weight tomorrow! Go us! Jackie Last edited by IamSlim; 22-06-2008 at 20:02. Reason: Typo |

Ah the irony of it all. I sign up for the challenge and I have my smallest loss so far! Never mind.
0.8 kg lost and new weight 76.9 kg. I know it's possible to lose 10 kg in 6 weeks because that's exactly what I did in my first 6 weeks and plenty of Cohenites have done much better than that. Perhaps my second 6 weeks won't be as generous but it's all weight gone forever as far as I'm concerned. Good luck Jeannie, Jackie and Louise. x Loulou

Well you did better than me LucyLou! Ive been up 200gms then back to my starting weight of 92.9kgs It was not a good week obviously! Lets hope we will both do better next week - Im confidence as I can control my own diet entirely over the next 7 days - thank goodness. Good luck to Jeannie and Jackie and Lucy Lou, I would have been very happy with 0.8kgs - thats still good and remeber that the needle is going in the right direction!! Fingers crossed for next week! Hi guys
Well I didn't do much better this week either - down 900grams I am happy with a loss, but I have also been travelling this week and TOM has been hanging around for 9 days now, so i think that may be affecting me this week. Here's hoping we all have a fabulous fat dumping week next week |

Welcome back to the forum, Jackie. I certainly remember your wedding and those lovely photos of yours.
I'm sorry to hear of the terrible time you have had. Your reaction is the one so many of us have, eat too much, add some fat, and cocoon ourselves away from the problems with a protective layer of fat. I think that most of us will have to fight hard when we finish to break through that mental attitude that we have. Good on you for starting the fight and I wish you every success in your endeavour to lose 10 kgs in six weeks. Given that it's all new fat, it should come off much more easily than the last ten kilos to goal did. AJ

Back again to do it all over again, starting from exactly the same weight as last time. My health is not good and my doctor is predicting all sorts of nasty things if I don't lose weight. What else do I do? I help people make money and I help people save money. Please take a look at http://www.acnlinks.clancie.com.au/ |

Hi guys....
Sorry I haven't posted yet - my internet was down at home and I'm not able to access the site from work. Well it looks like it was a challenging week for all concerned - I too had a pretty lousy loss - only 0.4kgs... and really I know why. First week back and I have to say I found it soooo difficult. In between the severe headaches (which just tells me I was having too much carbs and suger) and the deviations, I deserved to only have a small loss. But I sat myself down on the weekend and gave myself a good talking to. I told myself that I have to take 100% responsibility for myself and what I put in my mouth... and remember how good it felt at the wedding to be so slim! Suffice to say I have been back on Cohen's 100% since Monday and I'm beginning to feel a lot better (and I snuck a look this morning on the scales and I have dropped 1kg this week already!!!). So again - sorry I left you guys hanging... Here are the week one stats (thanks Louise for posting the preliminary ones!) Louise 92.9 - no change Jeannies 74.6 - 900gms down LucyLou 76.9 - 800gms down Jackie 71.2 - 400gms down Good luck to everyone this week! I'm sure we are all going to kick but! Jackie |

Hi Jackie
Great to have you back in, the headaches are a killer aren't they, I remember them well! I'm going to post on Thursdays because that's my weigh in day. 1 kg down this week. My weight today is 75.9 I thought it would be a bigger drop because I feel so much slimmer and my clothes are looser but even my cm drop was small. But when I think about it I am a lot slimmer than I was 8 weeks ago! It's all good. x Loulou

Congratulations LucyLou on the 1kg loss. I think you have the right attitude - you are smaller than 8 weeks ago. I get impatient, but keep telling myself that as long as the scales keep going down I should be happy! I hope everyone else does well this week!
