Protein before Vegies and sleep?
I was just reading an old post as l am wondering how much sleep would affect the program. My sleep patterns are normally ok. Although, today l didn't have my lunch till 8pm l was in a few meetings that went over time, and l guess l didnt plan very well. So my dinner (meal one) wont be till 1am! I know it is important to have a meal so l will but to stay up to 3am will not be possible lm almost dozing right now. Of course because l left too much time between meals lm ravenous! While l was reading some old posts l came across this information. That you must eat protein before the vegies. Is that right? I have read my booklet a few times and have never seen this. Im wondering if there is anything else l need to know that l don't know about. Also, with the blood tests they are only for the refeed arent they? Our plans dont change after them do they? I had mine and havent heard from the clinic even though l sent an email (lm guessing they are inundated at the moment). Ciao for now.. |

Hey Slim,
One I also remember reading is that you can "shrink to 4 hours between meals" in an emergency..... So, don't stay up TOO long - the sleep is pretty important too, Koh

I believe that is only possible if the protein for both meals is the same type though. Like having chicken salad for lunch and chicken again for tea.
Again, I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I saw that somewhere here as well.

Yes that's what I've heard too, you can shrink the time to 4 hours in an emergency but only if you ave the same type of protein.
As for the protein before veggies I've never heard or seen that. In fact I sometimes make myself a cheesecake and the recipe actually says to have a salad first for the veggie part then eat your cheesecake as dessert..and that's on the Cohen's website. My understanding on the sleep part is that it's best not to go to sleep on a full stomach because the body's then too busy digesting food to make the HGH that we need. However the bottom line is getting enough sleep, that's vital. I've often read on this forum that if people get a good night's sleep their weight drops. Much easier in the long run to have lunch before 8pm if you can! I hate meetings. I used to have a policy of only one extra meeting a day, that was on top of the two daily meetings I had to have. But my work life has changed a lot since then thank goodness. x Loulou
