Yes have tried it but not since Ive started my diet.Quiet nice.Actually this amuses me a little because I asked my consultant recently why freshwater fish wasn't on the menu and was told it wasn't because all products had to be easy for everyone to get worldwide.I guess they export kangaroo meat???I have lots of frozen freshwater fish and was hoping to be able to use some.

Never have, never will...........poor Skip. I think we kill enough animals for food, is nothing safe??? If it moves, eat it .

Certainly do but find it rich and can only eat small portions. It's best on a bbq.

interesting piece of info....it takes 72hrs to digest 150grams of beef and 20hrs to digest 150grms of roo.....way less fat and no injected hormones or crap.... pen |

Hell NO! Roo is disgusting! Had a brother that was a roo culler and he reckons the amount of diseases and worms and other crap they have inside them is gross. Plus I find the meat too strong tasting...

I didn't eat kangaroo before Cohens but it is certainly a nice change from beef, stronger tasting and much cheaper

I do. But I much prefer to go get it myself, the stuff you get at the chain supermarkets does not look the same as fresh roo meat, or taste the same, and we don't have a decent butcher round these parts so haven't had it for a while.
I also have lived with 2 butchers over the years, and could scare you all a bit silly, with some of the stories of 'fresh meats', but I won't, as I don't think some of you are ready!! |

MMMMmmmmm. Baby skippies skewered & roasting on an open spit! Like eating Veal ain't it! You do know what veal is, yeah? Technically, it's from unborn calf. And you pay a premium for it!

Re: Do You Eat Kangaroo Meat ?
Hmmm, my consultant told me try Roo... cos I was concerned about the marbled fat in the meat I could get. And funnily enough, that same day my SIL mention she had tasted roo the night before and couldn't believe how gross it was... NICE TIMING! haha. I was like, mm, that's enough for me, so NO.
I am 'pretty' sure I have had it before... and I thought it tasted like lamb- although maybe that was because the way it was served looked like lamb. I dunno... anyway, I am one of those people that a lot of my hang-ups are in my head. If it looks like lamb, I think it's lamb... and if I knew it was roo, I wouldn't have eaten it.

Just a big happy hushpuppy I haven't "done" Cohens - Asy knows me from way back - she invited me to "take a look" here - I did, loved it, and stayed... And me? I'm a tall skinny-ish bloke (BMI ~25.5) and have been this way forever, so I haven't faced (weight-wise) what you all have !! |
