Rosemarys Diary
I can't wait for the pack to come, and as many suggest I will be reading it thoroughly before beginning. I can't wait - I am anxious, nervous and excited. Rosemary Last edited by asy; 13-03-2009 at 18:16. Reason: diary verified -asy. |

Hi Rosemary and welcome.
How great that Jenny has inspired you enough to join up. I know what you mean about promising yourself you are going to lose weight for a certain event and then years later are still overweight. It's good tho to have an event to focus on (your 50th) to get you motivated and on the straight and narrow. Keep thinking about the beautiful lady you will be by the time your birthday rocks around. HI, Thanks to you all who have visited and encouraged me. I have read a few of your diaries already and look forward to losing those kilos. I have noticed a few of you mentioned how nice mangoes were so I hope they will be in my list of fruit cos I went and visited my brother on his farm where he has some trees and got some to freeze. I really enjoy all the hints etc this site provides - it is a great help. I am sure I will appreciate it more and more and hopefully I can contribute as well. I am keeping an eye on my mail.
Thanks again. |

Everyone's list of food is the same, it's just the amount that varies - unless you're allergic of course! So yes, mango will be on your list!

Hi, One week since I had the initial blood test and I am anxiously watching the mail. Maybe today - but I do understand that there is a backlog. So I will just keep reading your diaries and making mental notes on all the great tips. I actually went shopping today and bought some things in advance like spices and salada biscuits so I will be up and running asap.
Thanks to everyone for the visits and I look forward to starting this journey. I have already started drinking more water and I do love water but the trips to the toilet are annoying especially when I am at work and the rainy weather here doesn't help. LOL Anyhow I can't wait to go home and check the mail. |

Hi Rosemary - Welcome, and congratulations on taking the step towards a slimmer you! I started the program on Monday, so it is only day 2 for me.
I have never weighed things, love milk in my coffee and can't imagine not eating toast for breakfast - BUT I am doing it! Because the idea of weighing 61kgs is just extremely exciting. Like you, I am nervous, excited, anxious... BUT we'll cheer each other on!!! Today I feel hungry and think about food, but that is probably because I am not keeping busy. A few others on the forum have talked about keeping busy and drinking water as a way to combat the hungries. Others don't get hungry at all, so I hope that happens to me once my body gets used to the quantities. Anyway, it will be great to keep in touch and motivated through the diaries. Fi

Hi Rosemary
Thanks for visiting my diary - and yay for receiving the program.... Anything left to plan for the first day? I know that I had to go out and get yoghurt and crispbreads and then bought some meat which I diligently weighed out and froze so that portions were ok. I have not weighed food before, but finding it ok because I have pretty good food scales. I am not a softdrink drinker, but I trawled through some of the recipes on the recipe forum, and have decided that I may buy some of that so that I can experiment with different recipes. Isnt it exciting? Making a decision to take control, then DOING the things necessary to get ourselves on track? It will be great when you start tracking progress too! I will be cheering!!! Fi

Eve of my first day
I spent sometime shopping for various things today and I would like to share this with everyone and ask some questions as well. First, the yoghurt - I have never been a yoghurt eater and I looked for the natural and fat free ones, I had read to look for Tamar Valley Natural and the only one I could see with that brand was a fruit flavoured so I walked up and down that isle for quite a few minutes and finally settled on Pauls Lo fat Natural. I live in a small town and the choices are not as great as in the city. Anyhow, I bought a small container and will try it. Next was the tuna aisle, well I have always loved tuna with oil of course ! The thought of brine or springwater makes me cringe.... So I bought one of each and thought that I could always drown it with wine vinegar...... Then the vitamins were a little confusing. can someone tell me if these are the only ones I should use:- Natures Own Calcium & Magnesium, Blackmores Sustained Release Multi Vitamin and Odourless Fish Oil Omega 3. And do I take these as per the instructions on the bottle ? Needless to say the chemist shop assistant was more confused than me by the time I left there cos she thought that I was taking too much... I am trying to find someone else who has the low goal weight like me - Another disadvantage of being short.
So I have my water bottles ready, my menu planned for tomorrow and I am keen to jump on the scales first thing in the morning to get my official starting weight. And i think I have added my ticker. So all systems go and I will be back to let you all know how my first day goes. Thanks for all the encouragement. |

Hi rosemary,
Not all shops even in the big smoke sell Tamar Valley Natural Yoghurt. I have never been a yoghurt eater but I don't mind the Yoplait yoplus. When you add a mango or fruit of your choice its not too bad. The vitamins are correct. We need these to sustain our bodies with the nutrients we may not get from the food. Normally one of each per day is sufficient. Glad to see you are so organised and keen to get on with it. Will enjoy watching your journey with you. Michele |
