Default Lobster & Crab Question

Hi all, I am trying to plan what i am gonna be having as my own special treat on christmas day, and have decided on lobster for christmas, and crab for boxing day. The only thing is, i know all foods have to be weighed raw, including meat, so how would i weigh the lobster, if it needs to be cooked in the shell (well FH said it tastes better, with more flavour if in the shell)

ive never cooked lobster before. i am unsure, and asked my clinic but they dont know either, So i thought I'd ask on here

you could try slicing lobster down the back- take meat out, weigh the amount you want to use. place back in lobster shell, tie with string and cook. At least it will be easier to break into when cooked eh.

I think there is a thread asking about the weight for cooked food IF we cannot get hold of raw food to weigh.

Try searching for it. My memory tells me it should be around 10% or 20% less but I might remember wrongly.

Yes fornight. There is A thread which I can't find at the momment. Asy made the post in a thread - which I think was around last Christmas. Will keep an eye out for it. I thought it was 30% but my memory might be playing tricks on me.
One of the first things I had on maintennce was steamed crab as the weighing just seemed too hard onprogramme. Gee I enjoyed that crab.

Enjoy Christmas
