Great to hear LF.

Encouraging for me about to hit refeed. I agree with Kistine re Carb Overload. Our generation willbe seen in the future as the one that treated rubbish food, like smoking in the 70's and drinking in the 80's. We knew the risk but ignored it.

I agree I think in 20 years everyone will look back at the fat and diabetes "explosion" of the 90's and 00's as we look back on the 40's and 50's with the rise in cancer particular lung cancer not being linked to "the healthy giving properties smoking", were they that dumb 50 years ago...or is it a case of not acknowledging the truth?. Process nutrient "removed" foods of any type are simply a danger to our health when they form the mainstay rather the the occasional treat in of our diets: white bread, potatoes, sugars, fats particular the trans-fats found in baked goods from supermarkets are quite simply "dangerous". What would a caveman think if he saw pictures of fish, strawberries, apples, a steak, asparagus or a chicken...he would immediately say "food"...lets eat. Yet with 50% of the population obese we are gouging ourselves on white bread, cola, thick-shakes, biscuits, KFC, mashed potatoes, Sara-lee apple strudel with ice-cream stuff a caveman would have trouble identifying as food (at least from pictures).

I have never been addicted to anything before, but I honestly now believe that I was addicted to the "pure" carbs "insulin, fat, hunger" viscous circle, that took some time to dig myself out off.

And it is all so convenient.

I look at my mother. 76 years old, retired farmers’ wife.

I remember as an 8 year old, dad killing a chicken and mum plucking and gutting and preparing for the table. It took all morning, maybe longer. They would preserve fruit, make jam, grow veggies, etc.. All time consuming, energy using, real food that tasted great.

Now we buy a Roast Chicken at Coles for $6.99. As as mum says why would you bother?

We do. My wife and I have returned to that world, buying a farmer markets, growing this and and even the chickens in a year or so. Sadly mum (I think) is confused why we want to make all this work for us. Organic food is old food to her. I worry about my nephew and niece and all the cola, lollies, bikkies and McD burgers they eat.

LS
Baloo said you did the internet program. Did you loose all your weight in the 12 weeks of the program? Did you just order refeed even if you were not at there goal? Or did you order another 12 weeks and go on?
I am curious. I have 60 lbs yet to loose and can't see getting that done in the 6 weeks I have left. With really not getting any support thru the internet thing I thought I would just order refeed or try to closer to the end of my 12 weeks. Unless they won't let me then I will order another 12 weeks or whatever has to be done. It's not the money thing it more of I hate to give them $$$ that they do not really work for if that makes sense.
Thanks Pudge

Well at the end of the 12 weeks I had dropped to the low mid 90s so I ordered the refeed Personally I didnt mind some money going to DrC, but I too felt bad paying for "support" that just didnt live up to its name.

Pudge , can you convert from internet to a clinic. Mine gives me great service and costs $660. I assume the extra $300 is to them. I also have no limit but review at 6 months.

No clinic's in the U.S. that I have heard of.That's why we went with the internet thing.
We live so far out in no man's land if there was one it would probably a 8-10 hours drive or more. The no limit would be nice but then with me I may actually go off plan just because I had more time. At least this way I know unless I pay more I am done at 12 weeks with hopefully refeed. If they won't give it to me then I will sure pay more just to continue on and get refeed. It would be a disaster with out it.
Thanks for the thought though.
Pudge
