Hi all

Well done to you all you are really doing well. I don't really deviate at all except for the odd extra piece of fruit if I exercise but have been watching you all for a bit of inspiration and to track how much you lose when not deviating.

Bruni - I think you may need to start a new thread...."Days without deviating"..Come on girl see if you can push through for two weeks as you have only 10 days until your first goal..
I will be here silently cheering you on!!

Hugs to all

LJ

All is good - day 2 and NO deviation - and I'm now over the 5ks yippeee - I'm off to a friends 50th on Sat night - will drive
so the urge to have a drink will not be questioned by myself - I'm in the ZONE - onwards and upwards - I say no to booze, I say yes
to seeing those kilos dropping off and knowing that I simply adore my h20 with a little lemon (my fruit allowance)

Onya Jules, I reckon if you can keep off the grog you will do really well ( although it's hard when you are socializing a lot.)

I like a bacardi and coke myself but I now know that it really does affect my weight

I think I might just stick to a glass of wine when I finish.

Well done on the 5kg loss too

Cheers

Tuti

A message for Jelly
Hey girl keep your chin up - you are not alone & this will not last forever.

You will get plenty of support on this site & this challenge list!

I think most have us have been where you are now...no fun at all!

We are all different & therefore different things will work for us but we share a common experience & goal which means we can appreciate each others struggles & offer advise, tips & SUPPORT.

Personally, I found so much motivation from joining this challenge & I had been deviating for like nearly 2 months!

I slipped again over the weekend when I went away & then have been able to get back on track today just taking it one meal one craving at a time.

GOOD LUCK with everything - hope you get some help from the marvelous people here - they are so great

regards, Frannie

Just my opinion, but I think alot of you are making doing Cohen's very hard for yourselves.

The more you "deviate", the easier it seems to keep doing it?

From what I have learnt- you are not letting your bodies get the hormones on an even level, might that be why it is easier to "deviate"?
Don't get me wrong, I wish you all the best in supporting each other to try and overcome the deviations, I think you will find it much easier if you do.

And yes I have deviated a few times, and have finally worked out I wasn't doing "myself" any favours, and I am important enough to have a healthy and happy life (better late than never! )

Remember alot of us have tried other ways to loose weight, and if you do this properly it DOES work.
Make this time all about yourselves, and the person you want to be!

I hope I havn't upset anyone, that is not my intention.
Good luck
Shell

I can only agree with Shell here - you are not even any where near a successful outcome the way you are going - you will never succeed and I hate to be the one to tell you - but from reading this post its looking very much like that at some stage you really need to stop and evaluate what you are doing and if you are on the right plan and if its what you want to do or to be on at this point in your life.

I have read this thread from start to finish today and I really feel for some of you - the problem is this thread is not helping you to realize your mistake and it almost sounds again as if some of you are bragging about what and how and when you have deviated - and again not in the spirit or at all helpful to the genuine people - we all face the same problems and challenges - some of us may handle things better - but it is still the old mind over the problem that needs to be sorted first.

I have tried all things for about 25 years and failure has followed mostly - and really its been mind over matter and the fact that it was so easy to just go out and help yourself - no problem doing that and each time it just gets easier and easer - and I paid a price - big time - and as I have grown older it hurts and hurts - physically and mentally to be a failure - and thats what it is - I could go on and on here but think the race may have been run for some of the people who just can't help them selves - may be look at a another plan or some very professional advise to motivate and lift you out of the rut - I think it takes weeks and weeks of deviation free planned lifestyle - as with any addiction to any substance or thing food or whatever -and to break away from a bad habit and succeed you also need to plan be a mature and committed approach to things - yep grouchy sounding and serious but you do have to be realistic about things.

Please have a think about things and a good hard look at what you want from the plan !!!!!!!!!!!

Again if you need support - lets be positive.

Andy

The last two posters said it all.

This programme works on getting your metabolism set to a point where the weight falls off. By deviating every couple days or week, you are not getting into that zone. What you are doing is effectively eating less, and eating cohens approved foods, but your not on the Cohen's Weight loss programme. You might be losing some weight by nowhere close to what you could be losing.

I would hate to see new Cohenites coming onto this forum thinking deviating isn't that big a deal. It's a huge deal and anyone that's constantly deviating is not on the Cohens programme.

I know a lot of you have referred to me as super strong etc because I have never deviated once on this program.. some people have even used that as a negative towards me.. But as I think Andy said.. some of us have tried EVERYTHING & failed.. that was me.. for OVER half my life (& I'm now over 40) I have been overweight.. I have tried pretty much any diet out there.. & in the end I just put all the weight I had lost plus more.. because why??? I couldn't stick to it.. I'd have binge days & those binge days turned in to weeks & then months.. I ended up being just under 160 kilos..

When I started Cohen's I decided that IF this program does all it says it does then it's for me.. now for this program to do ALL it says for me I HAVE to stay deviation free.. if I do stay deviation free then those cravings etc do subside.. I just have to be strong for the first few weeks.... & so I did.. as each week went on it got easier.. & now it's like no effort at all.. sure some days I look at something & think ooo that would be nice.. but I'm NOT going to poison my body with something that is going to affect my weight loss..

How much do WE all really want this to work?? I know that every single one of us has the strength to complete this 100%.. you just have to be organised & plan ahead.. Sure it IS easy enough for me to say.. I've been doing this for nearly 12 months.. it takes a lot of fore thought.. a lot of care about wanting to do the best thing possible for our own bodies.. I'm going to be 41 soon.. I dont want to spend ANOTHER year being overweight & depressed & blaming everyone around me except for myself for being so over weight & miserable..

But that's just me..

I haven't said any of the above to 'brag' I've shared this with you all because I KNOW I'm the weakest person out there.. I ate & ate & binged for years.. if I can do it ANYONE can.. Hang in there guys .. it really is an incredibly awesome program if we can just stick to it 100%... it's SOOO worth it

Thank you Faithy, I couldn't agree with you more with what you have said.. I know the key is NOT to deviate, and this is what I set out to achieve.. However after reading the concerns of the three earlier posts, I think I will end the thread..

I certainly don't want this to become an escape or an excuse and this was not the intention..

Hey Girls you can do it and thanks for your wonderful support, I know it has helped me achieve the lowest I have been since starting the program and I am wrapped in that and will see it through.. I actually bought another 3 blouses today that are a bit too small but I know I will get into them soon..

I will keep an eye on your diaries and watch you shrink into the beautiful people you are..

Take Care, Chins Up and Keep Rocking.....

I can't agree more people.....It's time to look at what YOU really want out of this program.
