WOW AJ finished refeed already?? You have done fantastically, congratulations!! No more weighing your food....how good is that. I imagine it will be weird to not weigh food after the program...like something is missing hmmm.

Good on you AJ.

Hi AJ. I just can't think of anything big enough to say for such a significant event after such a long but fantastic journey.

I hope that you learnt heaps along the way and that it stands you in good stead for life after. The freedom of not weighing and mixing foods as you like is blissful. However, the biggest bliss is the weight controls - tools for life.

I'm so happy for you that timing worked out perfectly. You are the most deserving person that I can think of to have such a wonderful conclusion.

Have a fantastic time at the wedding. Swivel those tiny hips and enjoy every envious stare! You are the new you!

Hi AJ,

Your a true Cohens champ !!! All done and dusted now, and sounding pretty trouble-free - maybe that "slow steady weightloss" really does set you up forever.
Quote:
It was a Swan Valley chenin blanc which we bought at the winery three years ago. The refeed instructions say one glass, not more than 200 mls. I had two 100 ml (carefully weighed) glasses. I was almost disappointed that I enjoyed it so much
Hehe - I had a giggle at this - perhaps you should have broached a bottle of "Chateau le Plonk" so that the experience wouldn't have been quite so GOOD !!

Anyway, well done, champ - and thoughts are with you as you enjoy "the wedding" - the stars aligned so that you would be "done" by then I hope the big day turns out to be all that you would have wished for,

Hugs,

Koh

I haven't "done" Cohens - Asy knows me from way back - she invited me to "take a look" here - I did, loved it, and stayed...
And me? I'm a tall skinny-ish bloke (BMI ~25.5) and have been this way forever, so I haven't faced (weight-wise) what you all have !!

Congrats AJ thanks for all your inputs into so many areas of this site. They have been appreciated by everyone. You are the perfect role model to emulate for the Cohens journey.

Look forward to reading and viewing the report of the wedding.

My NYF Diary
Default The end of refeed

It's been a long, tiring and stressful day. It's now past midnight, so I guess I'm now on maintenance, although I suppose I still need to weight tomorrow (this) morning. I cannot think of a worse way to do refeed than much of what I've done, not enough time to plan anything and it really does need time. I think that I got it mostly right, but had some funny meal combinations at times, when I grabbed bits of this and that from the fridge and freezer to make up a meal according to the specifications. Tonight the only 'new veg' I could find in the fridge was eggplant, so I grilled it as my total new veg, not my favourite vegetable or the best way to cook it.

I spent much of the day cooking for tomorrow night's dinner -- Pavlova, mini pavs, almond tart cases, to be filled with lemon curd (also prepared today), a flourless chocolate almond torte. I have ingredients for three dips prepared, will prepare the dips fresh tomorrow afternoon. I tasted a lot of the food today, and spat it out and rinsed as usual. I seem to do it as a matter of course now, hope I can continue to do so. Tasting food that I've been cooking has always been one of my weight gain problems.

It will be odd to have meals that aren't weighed again. I've prepared a chicken salad for my lunch tomorrow, similar to what I've been eating recently, but not weighed. I'll continue to eat along Cohen lines.

I mentioned this morning that I was disappointed with the wedding cake icing. I avoided it for a while, decided I needed to look at it closely. That's when the stress started. It is far less than satisfactory. I was told that this woman iced cakes beautifully. What she did on my cakes is amateurish. I could have done better myself. After some discussion with DS and his bride I phoned my SIL. Tomorrow we are going to deliver the cake to her and she will probably remove the top layer of icing and do it again. Fortunately, the cake is very plain. It's to have flowers matching the bride's bouquet on the top. After a day in the kitchen my nails don't look as good as they did yesterday either. Anyway, we're now mostly packed, still a bit to do tomorrow morning before we go.

I won't be visiting the forum quite as much from now on, although I'll still call in and update my diary regularly and look around, probably at the weekends. I feel that I put much of my life on hold this year while I concentrated on losing weight. The forum and my diary were a big part of that. I'm going to go back to doing the Sudoku each morning instead of writing in my diary, and pay more attention to some of the other things I used to do.

I'd like to thank all of you for being here and for helping and supporting me over the past nine months. This forum has made the process of losing weight so much easier, and I feel I have made a lot of close friends. Most of all, I'd like to acknowledge the support and encouragement of my husband. He has been wonderful, and he is now very proud of what I've achieved.

I wish all of you who are still dieting the very best. If I can help any of you in any way please send me a PM or an email message.

Thank you to all who have posted today. I really appreciate your messages. It's late and I won't reply individually tonight, and won't have time tomorrow morning or over the next few days. I'll be back after the wedding with some photos.

Love to you all.

AJ

Back again to do it all over again, starting from exactly the same weight as last time.
My health is not good and my doctor is predicting all sorts of nasty things if I don't lose weight.

Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

Thank you also for your kind and wise words of encouragement and advise, much appreciated, and a lot of the time very helpful and at the right time!

Good luck on maintenance and enjoy eating the food out of your Thermomix!

My NYF Diary
Default Signing off refeed

I did say in my post last night that yesterday was stressful. It showed on the scales this morning. This morning I was up 600 gms to 66.2, a kilo above my low. I'm hoping that it's accumulated fluid due to yesterday's stress. Interestingly, my watch band is looser, as is the blouse I put on this morning.

Anyway, finished refeed and starting maintenance at 66.2, and hoping to go back down a little from that point. I'm off to open up my maintenance diary.

Thanks for stopping by, shell. You have been a great support to me, particularly over the recent months.

Have a lovely, stress free, day, everyone.

AJ
