Pilates Power Gym
Just wondering if anyone has bought and used one of these and whether they feel they get any benefit from it? I've looking at them on ebay for a while but not sure if they will be worth the outlay. Would love to hear some feedback from someone who owns one (or knows of someone with one) Kezza |

It's previously been available on ebay or danoz direct also have it - but i'm a bit reluctant to go and spend approx $500 without talking to someone else who has one first.

dealsdirect.com.au and topbuy.com.au often have them as well as run out items, well worth looking there to see if they have one.

A friend of mine has one and he is happy with it and do 300 situps and is still overweight by 20 kg but I reckon for $500 walking is much cheaper. doing a huge amount of sit ups will not remove the fat - it builds muscle under the fat - you would need to do such a large amount it would hurt way to much.
A walk uses lots more muscles and is no where near as boring and does not hurt your back either. Andy |

Pilates Power Gym
Thanks for the links Connie - I didn't know about either of those 2 stores.
Hi Andy - I would have to invest in a tread mill as I don't home from work until after dark and am too afraid to walk the local streets at night. (Just a big scaredy cat) My other half is also interested in the power gym for himself so it be a double benefit for us. When I get myself a bit more organised I plan to walk in the morning before I go to work. Thanks for the advice Kezza |

Hi Kezza,
I too wanted to buy a pilates machine, but have put it on hold for a while, as I'm going on a holiday instead, but the one i was looking at was slightly different. Have you seen these ones? http://au.video.yahoo.com/watch/4816693/12850819 Also good for the men in the household! |

Hi Doing it for Me
I have seen these before however I thought the pilates power gym would be a better machine as it has the adjustable height settings so you use your own body weight during the exercising. They probably both have similar characteristics I guess. I'm hoping to spend my KRUDD money to get one. Thanks for your reply. Kezza |

This is also an intersting web site and worth reading.
http://www.sensational.com/diet/Aero...RD=aeropilates PS I have a lot to do with gym stuff as I run the PCYC/Blue Light Community Gym for our community. Lots of these machines are of very poor quality and there a lots of imitations of same. We found that they are designed for what they call the New Year resolution market - which is no more than six weeks usage. You will also find a lot of these available if you ask around pre school mothers and kinder mothers and year one mothers - its something they rush out and buy to get their pre birthing figure back but never use and then find it takes up a lot of room under the bed !!!!! pilates
Hi I have a Pilate's reformer at home.
I damaged my back about 2 years ago and had to go to the physio for months. At the physio I did lots of Pilate's exercises and really got to know how to use the Pilate's machines. Please be warned it can be really dangerous for a novice and unless you are doing the exercises properly with the correct breathing it is a waste of time. Mine cost about $2000 and was advised by the physio that the cheep ones are a waste of money as they do not have as many resistance adjustments and do not roll as smoothly. To be honest it is a bit boring after a while. For the cost I think going to a Pilate's studio is better and far more motivating and you can usually claim on you private health insurance if you have one and if a physio takes the class. The other negative is the size it is almost the size of a very narrow single bed. Having said all that I do actually use it for 10 minutes per day about 3 times a week and my back is now fully recovered. Cheers Hobie
