Default It's all about perspective - from Ropemaha (Penny)

Depends where you are, I suppose - but perspective is always a key !!
Penny (Ropemaha) has a great way of "telling it like it is"

Sorry, it seems the link is inaccessible to most - so, see Penny's thoughts in the reply below,

And me? I'm a tall skinny-ish bloke (BMI ~25.5) and have been this way forever, so I haven't faced (weight-wise) what you all have !!

heres the thing mate...whenever we are trying to hide something, emotionally we are trying to deny it. now i can tell you that everyone on here has been where you are right now...we all KNOW how that feels....

and as kate so succinctly put it...it isnt just you and her

the thing that i have learnt on this program is that putting it out there and taking the knocks with the praise, has helped me heal emotionally whilst the diet has helped me heal physically....they go hand in hand .... the food and the feelings.

let me give you an example. over xmas i was away for nearly 5 weeks with my family doing the relly run. when i got to my mother in laws she noticed i had lost some weight...when i told her i had lost 15kgs she didnt believe me...she said if i had lost 15kgs i would be thin by now....grrr.

then, the following day, i went to visit a friend and the first thing he said to me was 'hey penny, theres a hell of a lot less of you'.....

the point of this story is that these situations 'worked through' the feelings i was having, you know the type, i feel fat, i feel like i have achieved nothing, for gods sake give me that bottle of wine, piece of cake, tub of lard....

then the next day, i felt thin and i felt like i had achieved something....so you see, its the path thats only available to you if you are willing to be more than honest about where you are TODAY.

dont get me wrong, i can see you are doing exactly this. but try to remember that its ok to be fat today, its ok to feel like 'hiding' today cause these are the last days you are going to feel like this....you wont be fat for much longer and soon you will feel so proud of your acheivement you will be showing it to all around....

hope this isnt to 'lecture like' cause it isnt meant to be....

cheers penny
Thanks Penny - that's a classic !!
