Question to use or not to use chili powder

Hi Peeps,

Are we allowed to use chili powder in the northern hemisphere as well? I see it on you guys's recipes but I thought I saw some where that no chili powder or cayenne could be used! would love to know- I am having an urge for a fajita type salad tonight-would anyone know any permittable mexicanny spices that would be easy to find?

I hope it's allowed as I use tons, it is my staple spice, I don't know what I'd do without fresh or powdered chilli.
As long as it doesn't contain any bad ingredients, then I'm sure Chilli Powder is fine. I've done well loss wise and like I said, I use tons of it - powder and flakes.

Yeah I am with Marc - I would be screwed if it isn't allowed, I use it every single day in a mexican spice mix I made up myself. It is allowed in my plan, I just checked it...it just says you can't have Cayenne pepper which really isn't a big deal because Chili tastes so much like it.

Last night I found an amazing spice mix - Chinese five spice. Mix equal parts of Cinnamon, Anise, Fennel, Brown Peppercorn and cloves...I also add sea salt to it to give a more savory flavour and then put it on my steak. Yummmmm! It sounds disgusting but it is SO yummy.

I dont think I could stick to this program if I wasn't allowed spices...they make the meal!!

Like Marc and Jenna, I am a big chilli lover too. Most of my meals have fresh chillies added to it. I use chilli flakes and powder too. I know that Cayenne Pepper is not allowed on my program.

Chilli can actually improve your metabolism as I have read time and again in health journals. So I think you are safe to use it. However, if in doubt, talk to your consultant. Mine said its okay.

Carieanne -

If you like mexican spices you would probably like the curry spices as well, just make sure the curry powder doesnt have any additives in it - the curry spices are amazing on chicken.
