Default Spicy Sausages

Spicy Sausages

Recipe Description
This recipe can be made use only your beef
allowance, leaving your veg allowance free to have
whatever you like with them. I have these nearly
every night for tea with some salad, they are
delicious!
Ingredients:
Minced beef
(allowance)
Grated onion
(allowance)
Tabasco sauce
and/or chili flakes
Garlic granules
Black pepper
Dried mixed herbs
Paprika
Any other seasoning
you fancy
Preparation Steps:
Grate onion if using
Level of Difficulty:
Easy
Time Needed:
5-10 mins
Serves:

Instructions:
Mix the beef with the onion (if using) and other
ingredients with your hands until it forms a not-too-
wet ball. If mixture is a little wet I squeeze out
some of the liquid otherwise it doesn't form good
sausages.

Break ball into two and roll with your hands on a
chopping board into two sausages (mine are both
about 10cm long).

Spray non-stick pan with a little cooking spray
(optional) and place sausages in on medium heat.
Wait until you can see they're cooked halfway
through before turning carefully. I add a little water
while cooking once the pan starts to dry out and
then use this nice brown juice to pour over the
sausages so they're nice and moist.

I make my own mince by whizzing up lean steak in the food processor. Makes it much easier to weigh once minced too

I think we're supposed to weigh the meat before mincing not the other way around?

I think i'll give this recipe a whirl. Do you know if its good for freezing and reheating?

The weight will not change with mincing, only with cooking.

This works really well with turkey meat too, especially with a bit of ginger added
