Maintenance successes - they do exist !!
One question that I hear asked often is "But is it really possible to keep the weight off after Cohens?" That is a very good question, and it probably has as many answers as there are people doing Cohens. Anyway, today, I thought I'd start a new thread (which I hope to add to regularly) highlighting those posts or threads that indicate that "Success is possible over the longer term". I am not going to squabble over "What is long term?" either. I think what MOST need to hear is that one CAN succeed in keeping their new-found slimness. Whether that be for 2 years, or 5, isn't it really more important to think "Well, if they can keep it off for 2 years, then it must be possible to keep it off for life." But then, LIFE also gets in the way, so now and then, even successful maintainers might need to regroup or reappraise the situation. Life is ever-changing - doesn't that make sense? Unlike many "out there" who might want to see you "fail", there are many more in here who would rather support you back on track if/when you do have a hiccup in your maintenance. So long as you don't quit, you too can/will be successful. Like everything in Life, we learn more and more even as we go. So, doesn't that mean that you can learn to be even better at Maintenance too? One would hope so...... The next post will be a positive look at a young maintainer who shares her "secrets" of what is working for her - and a great read it is. That is not to say that her path will work for you too, but it might have parts that you can learn from (or experiment with). We are all unique to begin with, so it makes sense to me that each Maintenance path will also be unique (but with many "common ideas" that can work for all). See how you go, Koh PS I already know MANY names that should be added, and, over time, I hope to add links to each/every one. Right now though, I am starting with "the one I found today" - and that is LittleMiss.....

Littlemiss
After a very successful "first pass" on Cohens, Littlemiss settled into maintenance, and, over the last two years she has "tried stuff" to see what works for HER !!! (Update - make that 6 years as of her latest post - go to the last pages of her Diary below to read of her learnings - including that she NEEDED TO EAT MORE to stop putting on weight once stabilised at goal).
Enjoy.... http://www.newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14084
