Default Things you are looking forward to at goal.

Thought I'd start a thread about different things you are/ were (for those who have reached it) looking forward to when you reach your goal weight.
Not sure if something like this has already been started or not but thought it could be good motivation to keep going when we read about the different things.

Things I'm looking forward to

Looking good in a swimsuit and not having to worry about how I look when ever I go to the beach. I want to treat myself to a nice one and already have the style picked out. Hehe

Being healthy with no fat deposits.

To be able to walk into a clothes shop and not worry about if their largest size will fit you. To be able to walk in and grab something off the rack and know it will fit/ do up when you try it on.

To see the different styles of clothing that will suit me.

To see people for the first time since starting (there will be people that haven't seen me since I've started and I will be finished when they see me again) and to look and feel amazing.

So that's just a few things, I'm sure I will come up with a lot more.
I'm interested to see what others are looking forward to.

Well, I am cheating here a bit, as I have been at goal (about a year ago) and now am about 12-15kg away from it - which is a good 2 and a bit dress sizes really.

One thing I looked forward to, and enjoyed, was wearing colours! I am back into wearing a lot of black/dark colours to hide my body size.

I had never previously enjoyed clothes shopping, but the credit card got a hammering as I got close to goal! Now I can look forward to shopping in my wardrobe as I get smaller again. I also got more adventurous in terms of the type of clothing I would wear.

This time around, I will be looking at getting a proper swimsuit (maybe even a bikini, but not too sure about that), will go to a specialty swimwear and lingere shop to get fitted out. And also, matching underwear sets! I was really looking forward to being able to buy cheap bras, but I went from a 14E to a 10DD/E, so I still have to buy expensive bras, but it would be nice to get some matching sets.

I think everything for me revolves around clothes - I have never worn makeup, except on special occasions, and I don't think that is going to change until I start "needing" it...... I really want to wear singlets in summer - I have never liked to expose my arms, so that would be great - and not getting too hot in summer as I won't need to cover every bit of my hefty body with layers to disguise it.

Getting around/exercise is so much easier when you are carrying 20kg or more less - I found tricep dips and pressups so much easier. Am looking forward to chin ups!

nice thread

- To be more spontaneous in life !
When ever friends would say , 'hey im in town wanna go for a drink tonight ?' I would agonize over it and sometimes make excuses not to go because finding something to wear that i felt good in was impossible and the thought of sitting around fit girls made me feel uncomfortable. Mind you when i got there i was fine but i am looking forward to eliminating that anxiety

- SHOPPING and wearing young clothes. I cant believe i squandered my 20's wearing big baggy things to hide the fat.

- Being comfortable enough to go to gym and pilates and getting fit and healthy for the making of the babies soon

I agree this is a GREAT thread

I look forward to being able to buy any clothes I like, instead of being disappointed that something doesn't come in 'plus size'

Being able to cross my legs

Being able to do things without worrying about whether my size will restrict me eg. I want to go cage diving in SA to see the sharks but worried at this size they won't have a wetsuit that fits or worse, they won't let me scuba. Same for things like horse riding, bungee jumping, skydiving etc. I want to do all that stuff!

Fun thread!

I look forward to...

Being somewhat comfortable come summer. Or at least as comfortable as the next 'normal' person.
Not always checking to see if I am the biggest person in the room.
Being worried a creak (is that the word?) a chair makes is because of my weight. Same goes for creaks in the floor.
Being able to eat something in public and not wonder what people are thinking.
Being able to shop and not worry someone might notice me flicking through all the smaller sizes to find the big ones.
Being able to actually try on clothes instead of just buying it so I can try it on in the privacy of my own home.
Maybe one day being able to ask for a smaller size, because the 10 I took into the change room is too big!
Being more adventurous in the boudoir.
Not being worried I wont fit into the rides at amusements parks.
Not worrying that I am making the person sitting next to me on the bus uncomfortable.
Not having to hide the label on my jacket because it is labelled extra large. Or because it is from the 'plus size' section.
Being offered my BF's jacket to wear and not being petrified it wont fit me!

I am sure I will think of more!!

Great little morning meditation!

But where do I begin??

The first has got to be clothes: being able to wear clothes I actually like, and not wear/buy clothes just because they are the ones that fit. Being able to play with clothes, and not see them as my enemy. Oh, and ditching black!!

Not worrying constantly about how my weight impacts on what people think of me at work and in a career context. Not feeling constantly that I am less credible and competent on account of my weight, no matter how untrue I know that to be.

Being able to exercise more easily, perhaps even develop a running routine (!!). And no longer having to overcome the feeling of being conspicuous and out of place when I exercise.

Being able to DANCE again without being self-conscious about it.

Being more adventurous in the boudoir (haha, well put Missy!!)

Welcoming the summer season rather than dreading it because it means having to uncover yourself.

Generally no longer living with the constant feeling that I need to hide. Coming out, to socialise, to breathe the fresh air, to be in the sun.

Voila'

Wow Monsoon, you have expressed all of the stuff that goes through my head... Not the running though! I love running but the accident I had put that as a thing of the past.

Just being normal again! Normal clothes, normal size, normal health.
The normal weight will mean I may not have to get my ankle replaced so soon.

Having already reached goal in 2011, but now gained back 30kg of the 58kg lost, I want to again get back some of those amazing feelings and advantages of being slim.
The Happiness, wellbeing and being more carefree
Moving easier and with less pain (just been told have to have both knees replacement, but have to lose my weight first) Hoping to maybe able to prolong this when I lose my weight again!!
Have more energy for my 3 wonderful grandchildren, to be more active with them. To stay well so as I can see them grow up.
To be able to ride my bike again, the family gave me this for Christmas when I lost my weight last time.
To be able to go Ball Room dancing again (may need my new knees for this one)
To fit back into some of the lovely clothing I bought when I did lose my weight.
To get back into being more social and outgoing again, I used to be very much an outgoing person, but since regaining my lost weight, I have felt ashamed of myself, suffering with low self-esteem, tend to avoid social gatherings if I can these days.
To enjoy my intimate time with Hubby more and more often!!
I could go on and on, love this thread
Thank You for starting this thread, it has been very thought provoking.

For me personally, I don't always attribute fat with unhappiness, anxiety and a lack of confidence... I do sometimes but I don't actually think being fat is the sole reason these feelings occur (but it doesn't help on bad days).

I have clear memories of being much thinner and still being very anxious, moody and fearful about what others thought of me and I clearly remember looking good yet still not feeling good about myself. It was when I was a thinner teenager that I decided to drink heavily, smoke, eat badly and generally treat myself poorly because I thought I could deal with these fears by "not caring about it" (teenagers huh! ).

Since growing older and despite getting fatter I feel I have overcome a lot of those anxieties and now have the confidence to treat myself better. I don't need to rebel or run away from my anxiety.

I don't think that being thin will permanently fix negative feelings about myself nor do I think being thin will fix the negative feelings I fear others have about me... To be honest I am sure those ups and downs of life's moods will be a permanent fixture throughout life no matter what I look like.

For me, this diet and weight loss is about finally finding a way to be healthy and kind to myself and to improve upon myself because I deserve it. I just had no idea how to do this before... it's exciting!

Clothes shopping and being able to buy off the rack from a normal shop
Being able to have fun with my daughter and to keep up with her
Being able to go on bike rides with my daughter
Enjoy having my photo taken instead of cringing and hiding away
More energy overall
The look on people's faces when they haven't seen me for a long time
Take up a dance class (would love to do tap or jazz again)
For people not to stare at me when eating out and thinking OMG that is why she is so big!!

And so much more....

Getting pregnant hopefully! We've had a hell of a infertility journey and I'm hoping that this is really going to help us

I was at my goal (not through Cohens) about 3 years ago and the feeling of walking into a shop and not even having to try something on because you know it will look good was amazing! Also I found I was more "noticed" in a shop like shop assistants were more happy to help me? Crazy eh.

Also looking forward to not being the "fat friend".

Going nuts in clothes shops, being able to go to the beach and feel proud of my body, enjoy bather shopping for once, wear tight dresses and not have to wear fat sucking underwear, to be able to go out with my friends and family and eat normally, to stop starving and overeating, to wear workout clothes that show my tummy and feel great in it (ultimate goal), to be so proud that I achieved it, to test out all the healthy recipes I've been collecting, to start exercising more and be able to treat myself with healthy treats and be the fit girl I have always envied, to go out with my friends and feel like a million dollars

I want to be able to shop for clothes again, as since I've put on weight I've refused to buy clothes in a bigger size and I'm still wearing maternity pants (16 months AFTER the birth of my child)

I want to wear bright colours again, and bring out my beautiful purple coat that my dad bought me from Kooky

I want to feel attractive to my husband again. I know he loves me no matter what, but I want him to be able to pick me up and it be easy for him, and not hurt me. Feel more adventurous in the boudoir (thanks Missy )

I want to have all my hormones in balance so that Tannah can have a brother or sister to play with.

I want to feel good in my own skin again, and not having things be an effort, like walking up hills, wearing high heels, no sore back, being able to exercise freely. Not having to constantly suck my tummy in.

I have really enjoyed reading all the things you are looking forward to!
This post is now the place I will come to get motivated when I am feeling flat.

I want to be mentally and physically comfortable beside the pool or at the beach this summer.
I want to wear all the clothes I am currently to big for in my wardrobe...and freshen that wardrobe up with some new items...I cannot wait for that!!
I feel heavy when I walk, I want to walk with a lighter step...and then dance and run with this lighter step as well!
I am also looking forward to the bedroom benefits.
And, catching up with those people who I haven't seen in a while.
