Measurements
I try to do the measurements correctly but know for SURE that I'm doing it wrong because why am I getting the exact same measurements from 4 weeks ago? I know I lost weight and inches because my clothes are dropping off and I desperately need new ones, but the tape measure is just not my friend here. Thanks! |

Re: Measurements
I usually get my personal trainer friend to measure me - so she is pretty good. When I measure myself I stand in front of the mirror in my underthings and measure around the smallest part of my torso (what I deem to be my waist), then around my torso in line with my belly button (I have a round belly, so this bit is bigger than my "waist") then I measure around my hips and butt at the widest part, then around my thighs at their widest part. I get my partner to do my upper body - but really I am most concerned with losing cms on my lower body anyway, so that is what I concentrate on. If you have a freckle or mark you can use as a marker point, that might be a good idea - and my personal trainer measures a certain distance above my knee for my thigh mesurements - she makes me put my finger on a point to hold the measurement spot for her to put the tape around.
Hope that helps! |

Re: Measurements
Hi Java, I get my partner to measure me each week and some weeks it has stayed the same but then other weeks will have larger changes. You do need to make sure you measure the same spot each week!

Re: Measurements
Oooh, and I forgot to mention, that if you clothes are getting looser/fitting better, yet your measurements are not going down (as you measure them) then obviously the areas you are not measuring are shrinking - so it is all good anyway!
