Default Fast Food Cohen's tips

I thought I'd start a thread that can detail peoples tips on coping with Cohen's when you find yourself out, about and unprepared. This must be a common scenario for all and I think it'd be well worth while to share what people have found.

Let me start:

Subways
Oven Roasted Chicken Salad
Subway will create a sandwich as a salad for you. The oven roasted chicken appears to be roasted chicken fillets. You can choose your salad and from memory the Cohen's compatible ones that have are lettuce, onion, tomoato, cucumber and green capsicum. They do have a vinegar bottle so you can use that as dressing with some salt and/or pepper to taste. I am not sure of the weights but I found 1 chicken portion to be slighty under allowance and the veggies over. If anyone knows a friendly Subway ower who could weigh a standard chicken serving is, and I guess weigh what a standard salad serving is, we could put that info to good use.

Default Places I found interesting...

B'fast - Ginger black tea/2 Meiji crackers/ 1 medium omelette !

Hello Baloo,
I did try the oven-roasted Subway salad.
Have also discovered healthy eateries...
Doc Greene's in the basement of Centrepoint (Orchard).
They have grilled chicken and green leafy vegetables which they will weigh for you. They have mushrooms also in case you want to go veg.
Aiwo in Raffles City Shopping Centre has the most amazing cuisine- all low fat. And can be made to measure.

Found a great place last night called SumoSalads. Was just in the food court of the local shopping centre.

I had the spicy bbq prawn salad, small serving. (no dressing)

They have a website www.sumosalad.com with a complete ingredient list.

Cheers

Thanks Mini, good site. Hopefully as more and more people become interested in what they are actually eating, this info will become the norm.

SUmo Salad is good, because you can also make your own salad - lettuce plus 4 other ingredients I think, plus meat options. I normally get mixed lettuce, cucumber, red onion, tomato and coriander, or something like that, with grilled chicken.
O-porto also make a great chicken salad. You can ask them to hold the mayo, and they just use balsamic. It has onion and grated carrot in it, but you can push that to the side. The thing I like about it is the chicken tastes like real chicken, and its warm (grilled). I find the other fast food places, particularly M's, the salad is not satisfying and the chicken tastes like cardboard.

Default Subway

When I was at subway last I asked about the weight of the chicken pieces and they said that one portion is around 60-64gms. Hope this helps.

A 185 gm tin of tuna and a tin of mushrooms or asparagus carried with you provides a Cohen friendly meal if you are unexpectedly delayed for a meal. It's not very interesting, but does in an emergency.

Back again to do it all over again, starting from exactly the same weight as last time.
My health is not good and my doctor is predicting all sorts of nasty things if I don't lose weight.
What else do I do? I help people make money and I help people save money. Please take a look at http://www.acnlinks.clancie.com.au/
Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).
