Had a lovely surprise last night. Took the night off work to go and see my cousin who I hadn't seen for more than 20 years. And ... long story short ... I put on a pair of jeans that had previously been too tight and uncomfortable the last time I had worn them. Well, last night they fitted with room to spare!! It felt so good to be in my jeans again and comfy too!!

Hi Louise!

Happy birthday for the other day! I feel you with the heat... I am in Perth too so have been sweating along with everyone else! But hey, it is summer in Australia and we would all be complaining if we had to dig out the jumpers & tracky pants lol

Good on you for sticking as close to plan as possible! Birthdays come around once a year and now its out of the way you can get back to Cohening 100%.

Looking forward to your next update

allie

Thanks everyone for your visits and lovely comments. Weigh in tomorrow but I just had to post this recipe I found. I think it's totally doable on Cohens using allowable veg.

Another 1.1kg lost this week making my total so far 7.9kg.

Had a verbal altercation with bully boss on Friday which left me stewing all weekend but I'm pleased to say that I stuck to my plan and have pulled through the weekend DF! A few short weeks ago this sort of thing would have been an excuse to binge on bad stuff all weekend.

Had a few guesstimated meals this week but am confident that measurements are all good. When I do weigh my food out I'm spot on with weights most of the time now but not weighing everything all the time is helping me stick to plan. Last time I just got so over micro managing my meals that I'm taking a more relaxed approach and so far it's working for me. If I'm ever in doubt about weights I will measure to make sure but it's amazing how accurately I can cut my zucchini, lol.

I certainly don't recommend this for anyone, it's better to stick 100% to plan but as this isn't my first time around I'm trying something a little different. If it doesn't work I will be back to weighing and measuring absolutely everything.

Awesome loss Louise and well done for staying strong this weekend!!!!!!!!!!!

From what I have learnt from my many attempts is that there is no right or wrong way of doing this, the most important thing is to not give up, ever.

It is true that is gets very easy to start to guesstimate the amounts and as you can do this and because it makes you much more relaxed as well then absolutely! The weight is going down and you feel on top of it, go for it!!

Way to go on the kgs down. And it's awesome you stuck to your EP despite the situation with your boss. Thats great you can guestimate your food amounts. I would be hopeless at that lol. Would be handy at times though! I figure do whatever works for you thats going to help you stick with it.

Well done Louise, 7.9kg is fantastic!

I know what you mean with the weighing of everything. I don't guessitmate, but a few (quite a few) times I'll throw in the end of the asparagus or that little bit of left over onion even though it takes me a tad over my veg allowance. I figure it really doesn't matter an extra 4-6 calories - and it doesn't.

Keep doing what your doing. X

Thanks for your visits everyone and your encouragement. The support on this forum really makes all the difference and helps me stick to my plan.

You're right Allie - weekends are very hard and that's one of the reasons I chose to start on a Monday. By having a Monday weigh in it means that I have to stick at my EP over the weekend but if I weighed on a Friday for example it's too easy for me to believe that I can break my EP over the weekend and eat properly from Monday to have a good weigh in on Friday. All mind games I know but that's my thinking lol.

Louise,

I totally agree with you saying this forum helps stick to the plan, i am the same... because i know i want to post something on my journal i have to stay DF. Nobody really likes to admit they have deviated.

My willpower fails when it comes to weighing, i like to weigh daily because i like to get excited when the number changes. I think this is a each to their own thing.... definitely a mind thing though... the whole Lifestyle change is a mind thing... because we need to get our head right before we realise we can do this!

The forum seems really quiet at the moment - I guess everyone is getting stuck into the new year - school has started and some uni's are starting this week. I hope everyone is going okay.

It's been an interesting week for me - bully boss is on review and has been taken out of "circulation" on our shift for the time being. Not sure if she will be back in tonight, I will only know when I get back to work. Really hope they don't bring her back, it's been so much better without her there and staff were a lot happier too.

Not a great loss on the scales for me this week but a loss nevertheless. I definitely didn't drink enough water and had too many cheese meals but apart from that I ate Cohen friendly. I probably didn't eat my full quota of veg every day, erring on the side of caution, but this may be the way to go when I get to maintenance again. However, for this week I will weigh everything again and probably cut out the cheese meals.

Even though I didn't have a big loss I know my body is definitely shrinking - my work pants are so loose that I have to keep hitching them up and I will be wearing the next size down any day now. Even though I've still got a way to go to get to goal I am feeling good in my shrinking body and enjoying the fact that I was strong enough to say no to the cookies and chocolate mousse cake that was floating around at home this weekend.

I would love a cup of coffee though - dare I try another cup of the black stuff?? I really miss my flat white ... nah, I think I'll wait till maintenance for decent coffee

Well done Louise, glad to read this week is going well. Keep plugging away even if the scales don't move much, in a couple of days they will suddenly drop.

Sorry to hear you have a bully boss, hopefully they deploy her elsewhere and you don't have to see her again. Why do people think bullying tactics work with staff? It only serves to motivate people to move on.

Have a good week. X

Fingers crossed your boss is permanently removed.

A loss is a loss, so long as the scales are moving in the right direction. You are doing great. Motivational.

I hear you on the coffee, black just doesnt do it for me.

Yay for loose work pants - rewards for staying strong!!

Have a great week.

Great work Louise!

Any loss is a step in the right direction!! Keep up the fantastic work

Being able to say 'no' to any sweet delites that lurk around us is a MASSIVE achievement... you should be so proud of yourself for that!!

Just keep plugging and you will get there

Until next time.
