Hi Yvonne,
Welcome aboard. Go here, (link below) and the first two threads will help you to set up a diary, and your ticker. These are "sticky" threads (i.e. they will always appear in that top section - they are stuck there). NEW MEMBERS... Start here! - New You Forums You'll see "sticky" threads in many of the forums - it's our way of keeping the important stuff ready to hand. 1. Setting up your diary is described in the very first sticky, and in the very first post. 2. The second sticky describes setting up your ticker. The third post in that thread (written by SindayMorningStaple) describes it in a "step-by-step" format. Just follow that through, and you should be fine. Once you've set up your diary and ticker, try reading some of the other "sticky" threads - you'll find a lot of your questions already answered Koh

Re: FAQ - We need you!!
Hi AC,
I sincerely hope no-one else has been that silly. Although true, in the scheme of things, anyone eating similar food types can lose weight - for a time at least. This just becomes them eating low carb foods - but they are NOT on Cohens, thus won't get the many benefits that come with it. The problem comes when they shed all the weight, but their body hormones haven't balanced, and the Refeed is not available to them. More importantly, they also put themselves at risk because there is no Doctor watching their blood tests (They probably haven't even HAD a blood test?) - and that can be a bit like Russian Roulette Dr. Cohen doesn't accept all applicants to the Plan - for their health's sake !!! Just ask some of the others on here - they know.... But then, I guess anyone is free to just "eat healthy, but low carb". If not "dieting", they would just add a little more food when feeling hungry - but, when following someone else's Plan, they might ignore their body's warning signs, and try to "stick to the Plan".... Now, THAT would be poor judgment on their part! They may in fact be starving themselves. People will be people though - and I just hope the person you mentioned is AWARE of the risks she faces in using someone else's Plan. Apart from health risks, one other obvious risk is "putting it all back on again once finished"..... Koh

Re: FAQ - We need you!!
We've been told during the info session, prior to applying for the program, that it is dangerous to copy another person's diet. Adding to what Koh has already said, one bad side effect for those following someone's diet, is that person may gain more that they weighed initially.

Re: FAQ - We need you!!
Are we allowed to drink sugar free energy drinks like Red Bull or something? My list says ANY diet soda. I checked the carbs and fat, and it is the same as Sprite Zero, however, I think the high Kj might be a problem.
PS I don't want to drink it, my hubby asked me, and I honestly did not know.

Seeing as I was told NO (or very very sparingly) to Pepsi Max due to high caffeine content, I imagine no for the energy drinks. They just seem worse than anything else even if they're sugar reduced lol be interested to hear clinic response tho!!

Agreed CB ... a definite no due to the caffeine content.

Re: FAQ - We need you!!
I just phoned the clinic, and they said no as well. Just as I thought. What is strange though is that according to my list, I can have up to 8 cups of pure coffee a day!! That is a lot of caffeine!! Currently I have 2. One in the morning and one with hubby when he gets home. Nowadays I cannot drink as much coffee as before. I was used to up to 14 - 16 cups a day. How the heck did I do it? I have more energy with just the 2 cups now than I had then. But yeah, still interesting...

I think it should be fine, just bear in mind that you have an allowance for how much dried herb/spice you're allowed in a day

Much obliged piles. I never purchase crispbread, so this will be a radical new pursuit for me. I think I'll attempt the Vita Weet like Baloo at first and perceive how I go.
