Re: Another way to look at Plateauing
Thanks for bumping this post, elle. Came at the right time. Been feeling a little low and frustrated these past couple of weeks because the scales have barely moved. Guess I should just be happy that my body is still fighting the battle of the bulge though not as powerfully as before. Guess it's just gearing up for a bigger drop?

Re: Another way to look at Plateauing
Hi Guys,
I thought I would post a blow by blow description of my last plateau experience so people might better understand what it means and worry less about "no lose". I started my eating plan on Monday 11 March 2013 at 112.1 kg (this is my second time around so I knew what to expect) My weight on Monday 18th March was 107.4 (down 4.7 kg) on Monday 25th March was 105.0 (down 2.4 kg) Total lose 7.1 kg on Tuesday 26th March was 105.2 (up 200g) on Wednesday 27th March was 105.0 (back to Mondays weight) on Thursday 28th March was 104.4 (down 600g) From Friday 29th to Wednesday 4 April I hovered between 104.3 and 104.4 On Thursday 5th April I weighed 103.9 (down 500g from the previous week) On Friday 6th April I was 103.4 (down 500g) On Saturday 7th April I was 103.2 (down 200g) On Sunday 8th April I was 102.9 (down 300g) Today I weighed in at 102.7 (down 200g) So you can see although I had a plateau of around 7 days where not much happened (and just as importantly I didn't go UP in weight) I still had a total monthly lose of 9.4 kg which I think is massive and something I am extremely happy with. What did happen in those 7 days when not much happened on the scale was that my wife started seeing other differences. She didn't know I was on a plateau so she wasn't making comments to make me feel better she actually saw changes happening like when I walked she could see light between my thighs (why she was checking out my thighs I don't know but that's another story ), she could see differences in my face being thinner etc so believe me things are happening but just not reflected in the scales. What I noticed during that week personally was an increase in energy levels and sleeping like a log. My sleeping patterns were erratic before but now it is like I am a log, I don't think I even move any more because I wake up in the same position I fell asleep in. I hope that helps anybody when they hit their first plateau to understand that the plateau (or integration as Shanara so aptly puts it) is part of the process or metamorphosis that your body goes through on your journey so don't lose your motivation. Stick to the plan and it will work. |
