As promised, checking in for day 2 I'm pleased to report that I survived day 1 and am already feeling more positive and excited for the rest of this particular journey. Meal 1 was fruit and yoghurt again. I really enjoyed my soup yesterday so may go with soup for another meal today. It's filling and warm which is just perfect in this weather

A mini milestone that I have set for myself is to lose 5kg. It's achievable and not too far off if I stick to the EP 100%.

Will check in again tomorrow ...

2 days down and just past breakfast on day 3. I think it's going to be a tough one - already having naughty thoughts and starting to feel the effects of the detox. Will have to keep busy and well hydrated to get through this.

You can do it! Your photos are proof you can.

Stock up on sugar free gum and chew chew chew your way through it?

I keep giving myself the 'oh well' chat from the Beck Diet book, acknowledging I REALLY want *insert food here* but it is not part of my eating plan and saying 'oh well I can't have that' and moving on to occupying myself thinking about something else.

Thanks for your visits Anna and AZ - they are really helping me keep on track. Today is day 4 and so far so good. I woke up late and was tempted to skip breakfast as I wasn't particularly hungry but knew it would set me up for failure for the rest of the day so I had my fruit and yoghurt as usual.

No big drops on the scales as some people have but I don't feel as bloated so all is good.

I think I will have to have a cook up this weekend as I am running out of my pre prepped meals and I am finding them so helpful at the moment. I'm especially enjoying the soup in the cooler weather and find I can add extra water when cooking which makes the volume more without increasing the food Win win!!

Onward and downward!

I haven't posted for a few days but still on track with my eating plan. Today is the start of week 2 and today's weigh in was good for me. Not as much as some but I'm happy with my progress I had a loss of 1.8kg despite dinner and a movie with hubby yesterday. At the movie we drank diet coke (no popcorn or other edibles) and at dinner I just ordered steak and salad. Hubby had the same but with chips.

Off to update my ticker

So, after a lot of false starts in 2017 I am back to start 2018 on the right path. The reason I didn't start on 1st January was because we had all our children home for Christmas, including the daughter and son in law who now live in the UK. We also had my second eldest daughter getting married a week ago and with all that was going on with preparations etc. I decided to wait until the dust settled before I started back on my eating plan.

Well, the wedding was lovely, my daughter has returned to the UK and I go back to work this week so I'm really looking forward to getting rid of the holiday excesses and feeling and looking good again.

It's the middle of the night now but when I wake up in the morning I will weigh myself and set up a new ticker. I know I have heaps of weight to lose but I am tired of being FAT and feeling so motivated to lose it now that it's time for me to "seize the day!" - well, in a couple of hours at least.

Bring on the skinny me!!

Louise

Hi S2BS,
A houseful over Christmas eh? How nice. And then a wedding. That sounds like a very full time for you. *gasp*

With them out of the way for now, it is "time for you". Almost ten years ago, you wrote this:-
Quote:
my skin had become quite dry and leathery but within about 2-3 weeks of being on Cohen's it had undergone a dramatic change and has become soft and moist, almost like baby skin.
Of course, you might have kept up with the water and kept that soft skin for those years - did you? If not, it's time to go get it again - for YOU. And if skin is no longer an issue, there are a host of other benefits waiting out there for you..... Here's a clue

http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5249

Your time starts again this morning, S2BS - I wish you a fantastic day as you get back on the bus to health once again,

Hugs,
Koh

The day has dawned and with it a lovely message from Koh! Thanks so much for your visit Koh and reminding me of that post so long ago. No, unfortunately I didn't keep up with the water and my skin is suffering so your very timely reminder is another motivation for me to do this! I so look forward to the return of my baby soft skin

As you said, my time starts again this morning - which I began with a yummy yoghurt and apple breakfast. In a little while I will visit the hairdresser and then come home to cook steak for lunch! How decadent does that sound? Steak for Monday lunch?! Yep, this is all about me now

Needless to say, I did enjoy my Christmas break with my family. I can't remember the last time I had leave over Christmas and to be able to spend it with all 4 of our adult children (and 2 sons in law) was absolutely fantastic!

Thanks again for your visit Koh and all your support in my diary and the forum as a whole. I feel like you're the glue that holds it all together. I know that calling you glue doesn't sound complimentary but please take it as a huge compliment. I really appreciate you hanging around the forum and sharing your words of wisdom, oh! and well done on quitting smoking! That's a great achievement! I'm sure you're feeling a lot better since you quit 3? years ago.

Anyway, off to set up a ticker if I remember how.

Till next time

Louise

Hi Louise,
Well, you got your ticker going - well done !! And thanks so much for this:-

I do take it as a compliment - even though the term "glue" seems a bit unusual, I do get where you are coming from, and thanks for saying so.

You have played your own part over the years too - that post I linked of yours earlier was the catalyst of a HUGE topic that has had MANY folk over the years read and contribute to it. I'm sure it is one that is read often, and appreciated by many. Probably one of the best topics in the whole place !!

Hehe - I suspect you know me by now, but, since I do check a lot of things before going to print, I just went and checked the stats on that "Physical Changes apart from Weightloss" thread you started.

And I was dead right - that topic you initiated has had over 60,000 views and over 260 replies over the years. It is the TOP post in the "Discussion on Cohen's Lifestyle Forum". Beats the "Gems" thread hands down (with 25,000 views) and another one that I just bumped - go check it out - the one about "You know you are on Cohens when...." It has a lot of humour in it, as well as a lot of common sense. Great for a relaxing break that puts a smile on your face.

Some great threads that have put a lot of smiles on faces, or led to some "lightbulb moments" for many. We're all in this together, and it thrills me when so many get to contribute to these topics.

So, go S2BS - I eagerly await more contributions from you as you walk your next phase of Cohens. Stay strong, stay happy, and re-create that slim figure you created way back - it is your time !!!

Hugs,
Koh

Wow! Over 60,000 views! Who knew it would attract so much attention. It's been a while since I read it though so I think it's time to do so again. Looking for motivation today Day 1 is always hard but the excesses of Christmas and wedding are biting back with a vengeance - I have started with a nasty detox headache and it's only half way through the day.

Thanks for reminding me about some great threads - I appreciate the distraction as well as the laughs. Before I know it I will be onto day 2 which has to be better than doing day 1 over and over again

Prob take you a day just to read that one topic from cover to cover eh? Then "You know you're on Cohens" will get you into day 3, then "Gems" can take you into Day 4.......

Nah, but seriously, along with a laugh here and there, some of the posts made are EPIC !! And they can provide the whole gamut of emotions - a bit of humour, some motivation, "Aha" moments, empathy, Awe, and even an "I can DO this" feel from some of them.

Oh, and don't forget to read your own Diary too - re-live the initial trepidation, those desperate days, the hopeful posts, the triumphant roars, the sense of achievement, etc, etc, etc. So much good stuff. Hell, you'll be into Day 10 (and in the zone) before you get through that lot !!

Rock on, S2B

Thanks for the visits Connie and Koh! I love coming to my diary and finding that someone has been here and left a message

I'm keen to get this done too Connie. I haven't done as well as you the last few years. Got to refeed and maintenance but almost immediately started putting it on again - there was also a lot of personal stuff going on and I returned to bad habits to cope with the emotional aspects. You alluded to workplace bullying in your diary and I know firsthand how devastating this can be - in fact, it's been one of the key factors in my weight gain too. I have been off work for a few weeks with Christmas and wedding stuff and it's been absolutely fantastic! I honestly don't want to go back to that environment but today is my first day back so we'll see how things go.

In terms of sticking to my eating plan - Day 1 in done!! I'm onto Day 2 and the headache isn't so bad today. I didn't quite manage to drink all my water yesterday but aim to do better today.

I'm still feeling motivated at the moment so think I'll keep the reading of old threads and my diary for those days when I will need them most.

Till next time

Louise

Just checking in to report that I'm still on plan and deviation free. Woke with a headache today but easily cured with panadol I must say, I do miss my coffee and just can't drink it black :P so while I'm on this part of the journey I will be abstaining. It's a small sacrifice in the grand scheme of things.

Day 5 and still going strong. I love how quickly I start to feel better once I'm eating properly. Before I really got back onto my eating plan I was feeling achy and sluggish but now I can already feel a new energy taking over my body. It's like an instant reward for following the plan which, of course, is great motivation to keep going.

Way to go - 5 days is awesome (because I always found day 4 the hardest haha) It is amazing how quickly we feel better when we stick to this. And kudos for the coffee sacrifice. I have grown to love black coffee - caramel lattes and iced coffee were my weakness. I always feel crap when I have iced coffee. That's something I'm probably best not indulging again in ever. You're right - they are small sacrifices in the grand scheme of things. Keep up the good work. Soon it will be a full week and before you know it a month!!
