Default types of fish

Hi everyone,

Apologies if this thread has already been posted - but I can't seem to find it.

Just wondering if anyone knows whether Hake and Hoki are the same thing? My program says I can have Hake - but I can't find it ANYWHERE - and yet Hoki seems to be all over the supermarkets!

I just ate some 'basa' for lunch which was delicious because I was sure I'd seen it on my program - and then was horrified to see it WASN'T listed on my allowable types of fish. Does anyone know what the difference is between the different types of fish we can/can't have???

Some types of fish are more fatty and I guess (not sure though) that is why we can't have it. I get hake from the frozen section at the supermarket. There is this box with 4 plain Hake portions in them. To be honest I can't find ANY of the types of fish allowed in either the supermarket or the fish deli's. The fish portions are not exactly the amount allowed, but I eat one as an allowance, it is off by about 5 g or so. I still lost 10kgs in the first month (have <20kg to loose), so it can't be too wrong to do it like that.

Hi guys, just thought I'd update this post because I got some answers from the clinic.

Turns out basa is ok - and so is the hoki - it's the oily fish like barramundi we need to steer clear of. Best to stick to our list of course - but just thought I'd let you know what I'd found out

Hey Alibaba Oh dear I didn't know that stay clear of the oily fatty fish but they are the ones with the most flavour I suppose sacrifice for what you want
