I used too many smileys - then lost my post - NOW FIXED !!

Hi all,

Yep, I got hit too !! Just once. The ONLY time it "got" me, was when I clicked right on top of an extra smiley, then hit Backspace to Delete it !! And, yep, I lost my post - "Back" didn't work - my post had GONE !! Suddenly, I KNEW what you were all talking about (or wailing over).

Prior to that, whenever I used too many smileys, I would click "to the right of the smiley", then Backspace to remove it - and I've NEVER had a problem doing that !!

So, if YOU have added too many smiley's, don't click ON them (you'll know, as it draws 8 tiny squares around the smiley). If that happens, just click again to the right of it (so that the little squares disappear) - then Backspace to remove the smiley you want to remove.

So, "8 little squares" is (and you'll lose your whole post).

Out of interest, let's see if that 10-year-old situation still exists.

I plan to add a few too many smileys to this post, submit it, then go to Delete the smileys (the WRONG way) and I'll see what happens - but first, I'll Copy this work so I can re-post it if it throws me out.

RESULT:
Interesting - the 8 little squares no longer exist when I click right on a smiley and hit Backspace to Delete it. And it also didn't delete my post when I deliberately used too many smileys. It did force me to limit the number to 4 (as before) but it DIDN'T lose my post.

So, it seems to me that bad situation doesn't exist in this later version of the Software.
