Hi S2BS,
Good to have a downward reading - but some weeks just aren't "loss weeks". Have you re-found AJ's famous weightloss spreadsheet? It shows very clearly that, in some weeks, she GAINED weight - BUT, those weeks were followed by massive drops that brought the graph back down to a very steady downward trend-line.

Check in "Koh's Classics" - or in AZ's diary (I referred her to it back about 3 week's ago).

As you said, you maybe need a new Plan - life changes us, and, as we age, Cohen does allow a bit more food than younger people. I recall AJ getting 6 or 7 crackers a day instead of the usual 5. Maybe SMS too? So, you are now some years older than when you first started..... Hmmm...

Probably not you, but there are some who "try to speed things up" on Cohens by cutting out or down on their Plan foods.....

I say don't do that - Cohens IS the fast way, but we need every last bite of the foods dictated. Some might get "caught out" getting a meal into them on time (life happens) and they get home too late for the "no food after 9pm rule". EAT ANYWAY !!!

Asy says there is a triage - and the top line (highest priority of all) is
"EAT all of your food as directed".

Lower lines say "No food after 9pm" and "wait 2 hours before sleeping" but these are both LOWER priority so, if it is 11pm, and you haven't eaten, then EAT your meal and, if really tired, go straight to bed!! Don't wait 2 hours or you'll stuff up tomorrow's breakfast too by sleeping in.

Other things (as a reminder) are to double-check your amounts, and your food types - no grated cheeses, be careful with currys, yoghurts, etc. You know - all of that stuff. If you are hungry through the day, eat meals 2 and 3 for breakfast and lunch, then have your meal 1 ahead of bedtime. Snuggle up warm and get an early night on a (nearly)empty tummy and who knows how quick Mr HGH will get active?

Good luck for next week - stay happy, dfree, and do check your PM's

Koh

Thank you so much for this reminder and your wise words! You have hit the nail on the head with regards to my eating as I haven't been eating my full quota of fruit and crackers in an effort to kick start the weight loss. Obviously I need ALL my food. I haven't been particularly hungry so it didn't seem necessary to eat the fruit and crackers but it could be this that's stalling my weight loss.

I have already taken to having my meal 1 at night after work as it's a fruit and yoghurt smoothie and easy to prepare ahead of time. It also means that I don't have to wake up early to start eating my meals, especially when I've worked a late shift the night before. I am looking for a decent container to take my smoothie to work so that I can drink it before I get home and give myself a little extra time between my last meal and sleep. By the time I've whizzed up my fruit and yoghurt with ice or cold water it's around 600mls and all the decent containers I have seen are around 500mls. On the other hand ... I guess I could take my smoothie in 2 smaller containers

Thanks again for your post in my diary Koh! Your wisdom has been like a light going on in my head!

Louise

Ah - there you go !! OK then, let's see what happens next week now that you are "back on track". I can't wait - how about you?

Hugs,
Koh

PS Did you find AJ's graph? It is really worth the search as it "proves the point" about not losing weight daily. Even weekly doesn't always do it. Maybe that is why Dr Cohen has us "weigh monthly"?

Hi ME, yes the smoothie is filling! I put in a serve of yoghurt, a serve of mango and then about 8 to 10 blocks of ice in summer or room temperature water in winter. Once whizzed up it makes about 600mls.

I hope it works for you too

Louise

Thanks for your visit Jessy. It's comforting to know I'm not the only one struggling along at the moment. I haven't posted in 3 weeks because I just lost the plot for the first 2. I was feeling so strong and in control and then bam! So, this 3rd week I've been trying to pull myself together and get back on track. If there is any good news to be found in my struggle it's that I'm at the same weight I was when I lost the plot and I guess "maintaining" albeit at an overweight level, has to be better than gaining.

Anyway, almost through the weekend without a binge so here's hoping for a running start to the week. I CAN do this!

Louise

Hey Louise,

You can do this!

Sometimes it really hard to stay motivated, especially in Winter and in the first 1-3 weeks. Just remember that if you can make it to the end of week 3 without deviating, you will be in "the zone" when you feel so much better and it is easy to say 'NO!".

You can do this! You've done it before and you can do it again!!!

Let's do it together!!!
