Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
I just discovered a couple of weeks ago that when I "sit on my heels" I actually SIT ON MY HEELS now. As in, I can feel them. It's the weirdest sensation, kind of like when you interlace your fingers the wrong way around. <g> It makes me want to start yoga again, because while I was always fairly flexible, I'll probably find I can already get into better positions due to the decreasing areas of fat...whee! <3

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
Hi - it was suggested to me I post my experience with muscle cramps and magnesium on this thread...
A lesson learned... A few weeks ago I was experiencing leg cramps (which is not unusual for me). I commenced taking magnesium again. I struggled with weight loss over a 7-10 day period. I was struggling with increased hunger and getting frustrated by the minimal loss on the scales. One morning as I was about to pop the magnesium into my mouth I thought to myself "how good are these magnesium - I haven't had cramps for 7-10 days". Like a bolt of lightening it struck me that this was the exact period of time I had been struggling with hunger and movement on the scales. I stopped taking the magnesium and the next day saw a loss of 0.7kg and the hunger stopped. This may well be a coincidence, however, it is something that I shall keep in mind should I need to use the magnesium again. Sapphire |

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
Wow yes keep "bump"in this thread.
Gremlin - i had the surgery and still have problems , so hope this plan can help with that. Yay to lack of headaches and better sleep- And cramps i get them a few times a week. Worried seem not allowed to take electrolite replacements what other people might use? Also to an older post men are logical creatures- give them food that tastes good, and makes you or them look and feel better they will eat and not think twice. Women on the other hand it isn't just emotional - we think of food that reminds us of a time with friends or family or my favourite food is fish and chips like the time i had with such and such by the water etc. We relive alot of happy memories and people past through food. And seek comfort in food - it isn't going to tell us we can't. This plan seems simple even though strict but for results like people have mentioned. Thanks to everyone who have posted - please keep sending- it's purely inspirational. |

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
I've been asked to share this personal experience, which helps my mindset considering the kg have slowed dramaticly over the last couple of weeks.
Annabelle I know what you mean, people at work ask me how much I've lost and how long. They get concerned, be careful don't loose too fast, they say. Yesterday, one kind fella, said "Remember ....... who used to work here, she ended up with loose skin and now has to get an op to get rid of it. No, I said, I'm taking zinc and my skin is reducing with me. The girl he is talking about, had a lap band. he started talking about, love handles, and pinched out one he had, I tried to pinch out one but couldn't. I couldn't pinch out a love handle. Wow, I didn't realise how my body has been smoothing out, Workmates coming back from holidays are looking at me sideways, trying to take in the weight I've lost while they've been away. One asked " Have you stopped eating? " Others, even from other companies, came up and ask " What are you taking? Pills? Shakes? " I direct them to the Cohen's web site and this forum. I'm a walking ad for Cohen's, and pleased to be one. You don't have to approach people to recommend this diet, (as in the Tips thread - Don't try to convert all fat people.) they come to you. I'm not quite half way yet. - 1.8kg to go - hopefully next week. I'm gonna be bombarded by the end, and for a while after. So many people there really need this diet, and I'm pleased to help. I believe there is a reason for every thing that you do, even if it's working in a place so people working there will be introduce to a diet that changes their life for the better. There is always something happening. Have faith.

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
And yet another great moment,
This morning I thought I would try my size 16 jeans on again to see if they fit any better since I first tried them on, on the 25.1.11 - 9 days ago. There was too much stomach then to bring any part of the zip together. At that time there was 4inches/10cm between buttonhole and button. I wasn't expecting much change because I've only lost 1kg in that time. I gingerly slipped them on, Grabbed the button and buttonhole and brought them together and easily zipped up the zip. Wow, Wow, I was gob smacked. How is this possible? I've only lost 1kg? Admittedly I had a great looking muffin top, and even though I could sit down without any effort, the waist band is a little tight, and a bit uncomfortable. But to be able to do them up so easily????? It'll probably only take a week before I can wear them shopping. Unbelievable. These jeans, this time around look better across the stomach than they did last time. Last time the stomach was bulging behind the zip, this time the stomach area is flat, even though it is pushed up 6inches/15cm. It must be structured differently. I think I'll wear the jeans then make them into a shopping bag when I shrink out of them. Those pockets would come in so handy in a shopping bag. Now I couldn't pinch a love handle two days ago, and I have a great muffin top today. I understand, a love handle is on the sides, and a muffin top is the stomach under pressure from too tight jeans. My back and sides are way ahead of my stomach. I would guess my stomach and down to my thighs and general thickness of my body is where the last 16.7kg is coming off. Trying on clothes is so much more rewarding than using a tape measure.

Re: Physical Changes apart from weight loss
What a awesome thread it is very inspiring
My highlights are: Fitting in to clothes i thought i would never wear again My clothes getting to big for me and knowing I am going to need some new ones People at work noticing My family finally noticing as I see them often they didnt really seem to be noticing Feeling a lot more confident in myself Excitement about going shopping in normal shops again and with friends as I had avoided this Knowing that the shop assistants are not going to look at me when i walk in and thinking to themselves "There is nothing in here that is going to fit you" Have some many more choices |
