HI all,
My official weigh in is tomorrow and I am looking forward to my weekly LOSS. I don't think it will be a huge one because I had a big week end with a late night on Saturday and then it was difficult to time meals on Sunday BUT I did it. I went to a fundraiser on Saturday night - it was lawn bowls (bowled once in my life before) - Bowling and a sausage sizzle, so of course I ate before I went and politely declined all the beautiful nibbles and I didn't even look at the sweets table. BUT the best part was all the comments from people who I rarely see and noticed my weight loss (small town where everyone almost knows everyone...) So that more than made up for having to decline the food. Then Monday night we went out for tea with some great friends and I had the 350g rump so I just gave my hubby two thirds of it and chose salad from the salad bar. Even the salad was limited due to all the "fancy" salads and dressing, but all was good. I have also had some lunches out this week - but as we all know (just look at Lousies record) we can lose weight while we eat out.

Sam - go get those clothes from your mum - it is such a buzz to wear clothes that use to be too small. I just love it.

Daffodil - thanks for your lovely comments.

Flamie - have you tried that yoghurt yet. I also noticed our similarities with our weight journey - I am sure we will help each other get to our LOOOW weights. I just think that Doctor Cohen is so clever with his research but do you think he could work out a way to make us taller so our goal is higher... LOL

Maria - I AM enjoying the clothes that I am wearing now and can't seem to believe that I will be wearing even smaller ones soon.

Thanks to all of you,
Cheers Rosemary

Hi Rosemary,
so nice to catch up again with your news. You are continuing to go so well and i can hear the pride you have in yourself for resisting the temptations and breaking old habits. Being proud of oneself is such an uplifting thing.

Like you i threw a couple of pairs of jeans on the too big pile and instead of putting them in the back of the cupboard for later, i have taken them all to the op shop. No going back for me.

i was just thinking the other day that i will really enjoy going shopping when i am at my goal wieght. I think i will take my 2 daughters with me and have a celebration day. I have always hated shopping as i didn't feel anything looked good so am really looking forward to choosing size 12 fronm the rack.
Thanks for sharing your journey with us.

Rosemary having read your eating etc I reckon you will still do okay in the losses department. It sounds to me that you made some good choices and showed good discipline in giving your husband 2/3 of your steak! It does really spur you on when you get compliments doesnt it and you are certainly right about small towns, everyone will know you have lost weight and I bet many will be wanting to know your secrets. I thought it was funny today I met up with some of my former male colleagues for lunch. More turned up than I expected and word had already spread that I would be thinner- its not only the girls that talk, and yes even the boys wanted to know how I had done it!! You keep those locals noticing Rosemary!!!

Default Week 9 Done

Hi all,
Smallest loss yet for a week of 700 grams. BUT I am fine with this. I am so pleased with the cms loss - not that I measure very often but I can feel it in my clothes. And cos I am a daily weigher I was expecting a small loss and I will know when I start to lose quickly again.

Well - I have to get ready for work now and I will visit some diaries later today.

Cheers
Rosemary

Hey Buddy! We are truly on the same path now. I've got just as much weight to lose like you do. It'll be interesting to see who gets there first...even better if we can journey together through and through. Such a wonderful feeling knowing that I can learn from people like you who are positive / determined all the way...Rub them off me!

700gms is still a great loss rosemary. On many diets 500gms a week is doing very well. Cohens just tends to spoil you

Hi Rosemary
A loss is a loss, and 700gms is a good loss for a week. Well done on the eating out and the other temptations.
You are doing really well, and not too far to go now

I have been keeping up to date with your diary, but haven't had much chance to post. Still doing a fantastic job which is great to see, resisting temptation and staying strong. 700g is excellent! a tub and a half of marg!!

Hi Rosemary

Your coming along great !!! I've decided daily weigh in's are not for me, I not too keen even on weekly, makes me stress a little too much. Once I have finished the six week challenge I think I'll go back to monthly weigh in's, they don't make my loses feel so small..lol sounds silly really.

I hope you have a great fat burning weekend !!!!

Sandie

Hi All,

The scales have not moved much in the last few days but I can really see it in my clothes... Speaking of clothes - YES I went shopping today and a nice dress shop in town had 30% off and I got this nicest denim skirt, size 16 and it looks so slimming. I already wore it tonite when a friend and I went out (usually we would go for coffee, but I stuck to diet coke). It felt great to wear my new clothes. Tomorrow I am going to Townsville and although my aim is to buy some things for home I know I will be checking out clothes. I really need some new tops - I have bought several pants and skirts recently so I will concentrate on my top half now. I want to buy just a few because I feel really sloppy in my old loose clothes.

Next week end we heading down to our beach hut and hubby has three weeks off work so he is planning some work on the hut. So I am going to go to work for the first week from the creek and then I will be taking the week before Easter off so I will have about 10 great days down there and providing all these cyclones and lows go away it will be perfect weather. Our place is fairly primitive - we do not have power but use a generator and cook with gas stove, so I have planned all my meals and have (or will have) precooked as much as I can just to make it easier for me because there will be lots of people coming and going while we are there.
I love the social life but in the past it has always involved food and alcohol but I'm over feeling like I am missing out on anything, cos I have a plan to complete and DF is the only way to go.

We are planning on taking a laptop to the beach and I am not sure whether there will be service for the net or not - so I hope I will be able to keep up with regular visits on the forum.

Thanks to all my visitors - it means a lot to me when I read your comments.
Flamie - we do have a similar amount to lose and I look forward to encouraging each other.
Lousie, Shazza, Sam and Sandie - I know 700 grams is a good loss but we do just get so spoiled on this diet and expect more. But as I previously said I am really enjoying the clothes difference.

Cheers Rosemary

Hey Rose, hope you're doing well... at least be losing! The machine has decided to stop on me ... haiz...dunno for how long though. Wish it'll move tomorrow. Nonetheless, glad that you've changed for a healthier option - that socialising need not be about food and alcohol...I wish I get there soon!

Hiya Rosemary. YOu really are an inspiration! You make great choices even when they can be tough, you are motivated and committed to the promise you have made to yourself, and see the positive in the choices you make... I am so pleased for you - that clothes shopping is fun, that the social life is still fantastic without food and drink, and that people are noticing your great new figure.... Yay for you!!!!
Hugs

Hi All,
Well another weekly weigh in and my smallest loss yet of 500 grams. Of course I wish it would move faster. I have stuck to the diet DF and it is just slow coming off. Hopefully I am burning fat like everyone says.....

I am thinking whether I should start to exercise - I know the rules are to do the same as pre Cohens. Before Cohens I was not doing any excercise not even gardening, housework would be about it and the occasional leisure walk on the beach. But if it would make a difference I would be able to manage a few morning walks a week. What do you other ladies think ??

Well as of tomorrow I am not going home from work as I will be staying down our beach place and travelling to and from work so I will not have my scales until the Tuesday after Easter so this is probably a good thing. I will stay DF while away from home and see what happens.

Jenny - I can't wait to see you - We will be in touch.

Fiona - Thanks for your comments. Sometimes I am tempted to deviate but I am trying to stay strong willed.

Flamie - Thanks for your comments - good luck with your scales.

cheers Rosemary

Hello rose, good thing that you are still losing...*sniff* I think either this is going to be my permanent new weight or something is wrong with what I'm doing. I'm like perpetually stuck at 77.3kg and not moving any more. No more water to lose?

Well, good for you to be DF even when you are on holidays. Hope to hear good news from you when you return to weighing on your scales...Meanwhile...chill out and relax!

Hi Rosemary!

Just think of 500g like a tub of marg!! Your doing so well DF!!

I have been playing netball for 6 weeks now, training for an hour to an hour and a half on Tuesdays and a 35 minute casual game on Thursdays. I've settled in to it now, I dont get super hungry anymore and as long as I eat about half an hour before I have enough energy to last. I dont recommend exercising on an empty stomach, I did that once and was very close to passing out.

Most people are going to tell you not to exercise but I do it for the fun, rather than potential weight loss/muscle tone benefits. Gives me a chance to not think about Cohens or food or bills or kids or hubby, just an hour or so of clear headspace and me time.

Stay strong, enjoy your break!

I hear you Rosemary...my losses have been slower recently too!

Do check your measurements though...i have lost 3.7kg in the past month, but my measurements have gone down by 22cm! (5 1/4 inches)

Not complaining about the slower losses if I am gonna keep on shrinking like that! Bet you have been too....fingers crossed thats the case, and we both manage to get back in the zone sooon!

Rosemary - If you feel like walking a few days a week, I think you should go for it. As you get slimmer, I'm sure we all do more incidental exercise because we feel better. So, going for walks along the beach sounds both relaxing and healthful!

From memory, the main problem with exercise on the program is becoming hungry because you are burning fuel... I think that came from an exercise discussion in another part of the forum.
