It sounds like you live in a lovely part of the country AJ and despite making the effort to walk, it sounds like your walks are enjoyable.

It's good to hear that things are still going well and to see your ticker moving in the right direction.

Hope you have a great day.

Louise

Default Re: Annabelle Joy's diary

Thanks for posting Heidimama and Louise. I weighed properly this morning, stripped off completely. Normally I weigh with PJs on and deduct the weight of the PJs. I've been hovering around the same weight for about two weeks, still there.

I've had a bad couple of days, tired and lacking energy. I haven't been walking. Yesterday my friend told me she was coming round to go for a walk. I said it had to be gentle. It was a lovely evening and I felt better for the walk, and I slept like a log all night. There's no doubt that a walk helps me sleep soundly, but that doesn't make me feel better the next day. Usually, I also have a drop on my weight the next day after a walk even though it doesn't use enough calories to take away fat. The movement seems to encourage the fat to go. The weather is lovely at the moment so a walk is always pleasant.

I've been helping customers change over to NBN. That takes some concentration and tires me out. It should be easy but it seems there is just one problem after another. I'm about to see a neighbour who isn't getting calls made from landlines now that he's changed.

Have a great day everyone.

AJ

No change this morning. Yesterday DH and I went for a walk together, not sure who was taking who. Anyway, it didn't move anything. We've received a number of invitations to birthday parties recently, not sure how we're going to handle them yet. If I don't stick to my rules DH has threatened to stop cooking for me.

It's another lovely day down here, not much wind and sunny. There are a lot of little boats out fishing. I hope your day is as pleasant.

Oh wow AJ!! Your husband is certainly committed to helping you lose weight! I remember way back when you were doing Cohen's before, you mentioning that you'd taken your meal to all sorts of events and restaurants and eating from your container. I also seem to remember that hardly anyone noticed or commented that you weren't eating the same food as they were. Perhaps you can do it again for all the birthday invitations you've been invited to??

Your day certainly sounds lovely - in Perth today I woke to wintery weather!! Raining and blustery! At least the temperature is in the high teens

Have a great weekend!

Thanks, Louise. Today I've lost exactly six kilos. Not sure what

Yes, DH has made some of the chicken nuggets that I used to take out to restaurants. We've been out once for dinner. DH measured a serve of steak and vegetables and cooked it there so I could eat with everyone else and took some diet soft drink for me to drink. Not sure yet what we'll do for these invitations. DH is determined that I'm going to reach goal.

The lovely, fine weather we've been having has been blown away and we have gales today. The bay is a sea of whitecaps. We had our Sunday barbecue in our 'red grotto'. I had Cohen pizza which is a change from my usual stir frys, DH had real pizza with some of my stir fried vegetable mix. His tastes better than mine but at least we eat together. I have my diet coke out of a wine glass. Wine tastes better too.

Dinner's ready.

Well done on your 6kg's AJ!! Seeing the numbers on the scales going down make the effort of sticking to plan so worthwhile and you must be feeling better in your body by now too.

I love that your husband is so committed to helping you reach goal. It can be a lonely journey otherwise and motivation is easily lost.

Aah! Pizza day I had the same thing today and really enjoyed it! The portions can seem so small but I like that with everything being so balanced on Cohen's the hunger does disappear after the first couple of weeks.

It's always encouraging to read your diary and see that you're sticking to plan and seeing this through. It reminds me that I can do this too - so, thank you for sharing.

Thanks, Louise. Another 200 gm gone today. I found a tape measure yesterday so will check some measurements occasionally. In the past I've found I lose a centimetre per kilo lost. It'll still be a while before I can wear my 'skinny clothes' again. I just keep telling myself that in a few months I will be wearing them again.

I was thinking yesterday of all the goals I've achieved in my life. It's just a matter of set the goal and work towards it. I've always been good at sticking to a diet, just not good at maintaining. This time I think I'll set goals of being goal weight at different dates, maybe by my birthday each year.

We've just been for a walk. Great cure for constipation I find. The movement must cause the bowel to exercise and move everything along. DH wants to make a morning walk part of our routine because he says my friend misses too often. Not a particularly pleasant day here, very windy.

Have a lovely day everyone. I'm heading back to bed now.

Weight was up this morning. Never anything to be concerned about but always a disappointment that it hasn't moved down. I'm feeling very tired and not inclined to go for a walk. I'll see how I feel after I lie down after lunch. I hope you have recorded a loss.

Hi AJ

I'm glad to see you're still doing well. Sorry I haven't been to visit in the last few days but my work schedule got crazy and I've been putting in some long hours. At least today is back to "normal" so I have time to catch up on diaries.

I hope you're feeling less tired today and were able to have a good night's sleep.

Onward and downward!!

I did manage downward this morning Louise, down 200 gms which is back to my lowest weight. This morning I didn't want to get out of bed (I never do) so ate breakfast in my PJs and went back to bed while DH went to the supermarket. I enjoyed the extra time in bed but haven't felt better for it, and didn't record a big weight loss as a result which some seem to get if they weigh early then return to bed. My friend has taken me for a walk and I feel worn out. It's quite warm here today, lovely day if you like sun and a light breeze.

Yay for downward AJ!! I'm sorry to hear you feel so worn out but glad that you could go back to bed for a bit - your body obviously needs the rest at the moment.

I hope you feel better soon and that your 'get up and go' comes back. Are there any meds you can take to help?

Till next time <3

Thanks, Louise. Nothing I know of that can help with the fatigue, although various people have suggested their favourite 'miracle cure". none of which have helped me. I'm hoping that a normal BMI and a daily walk may be the solution.

We went to a friend's 70th birthday party today. It was an all day event, starting at 9:30 and going until everyone went home, come and leave when it suited you. We went just before lunch and took chicken nuggets for me which DH had made and stored in the freezer. plus a bottle of Coke Zero. The Coke Zero gave me something to drink other than wine, and I ate the chicken nuggets while DH ate chicken and salad. There were no desserts, always my main temptation, and no cakes or nibbles. Parties are just a matter of being prepared and resolved. I didn't walk today.

I hope you had a good day too.

Same weight as yesterday, which is not bad considering I went to a party yesterday. As I said yesterday, preparation and determination are what's necessary. My friend recently bought a gourmet ice cream shop and I think that some of her ice creams had been ordered for the party. I didn't see them; if I had I might have been tempted.

Movement down the scales seems slow. A kilo a week is really very fast but it doesn't seem fast. Today is pizza day at our house and I am looking forward to having some pizza made with real pizza dough instead of Kraft Premiums. DH is having stir fried vegetables on his pizza just like me. Covered in cheese and on a real pizza base they taste good.

Spring has turned around and gone back to winter here. It's grey and dismal again.

Time to prepare pizzas. Have a great day everyone.

my weight moved up a couple of hundred grams this morning. It's cetainly not the result of overeating, must be a bit of fluid retention. Given that I've stuck to my diet all weekend in more difficult circumstances it's disappointing but I know this happens, and without any discernible reason. I hope it will have corrected itself by tomorrow. I hope your news today is better than mine.

The ice cream shop sounds divine AJ but it's great that you didn't see any of the ice cream at the party! Oh my gosh! One mouthful could set the most determine Cohenite on the wrong path again!

Could your slight gain on the scales be a result of the pizza? Did you say you had real pizza base instead of the Kraft premiums? I'm sure it will be gone soon though - your weight always seems to fluctuate a bit but generally goes down. I imagine it's a bit frustrating but not unusual for you

I hope your grey and dismal weather doesn't last long - it definitely puts me in a funk when we have weather like that!

Hope you have a great week

Thanks, Louise. No, Kraft Premiums for pizza base, definitely not as good as the read thing but lacking the calories.

Yes, weight's down this morning. Down 800 gms in fact, back down to my previous lowest point of a couple of weeks ago. DH is thrilled with progress. Strange how much variability there is in morning weights but long term the trend is definitely down. I keep thinking of the benefits of being slim--much easier to move, being pleased with how I look when I get dressed up to go out, better health I hope.

I hope everyone else had a good morning on the scales too.

Another 200 gms gone this morning. I'm doing well at the moment. I'm noticing I'm much lighter on the stairs, both going up and going down. Another 200 gms and I'll be seven kilos down. That sounds a lot, but not so much given how much I need to lose. I'm not noticing yet that I'm thinner. DH says he can see it in my face.

I hope everyone else is doing well.

Nice going AJ!! 7kg down and lighter on the stairs!! You really are doing well even if you think it's slower than it should be. It's not an easy journey by any means but your persistence is paying off. Well done!!

So happy for you

Thanks Louise. Back up 200 gms today. My scales have 200 gm increments. I was up a bit earlier than usual. If I'd gone back to bed for a bit then gone to the toilet again when I did get up I would have been the same weight as yesterday.

I'm getting tired of the meals. DH cooks for me, all stir frys. I've told him I'll look in the Cohen recipes and see if I can find something a bit different. I have my weekly pizza and occasional feta and cauli soup, which is always a treat, and tuna and vegetable soup, not such a treat. I never ate much carbohydrate but I find I'm really missing it now, would love porridge for breakfast instead of yoghurt, or a pasta meal. I've been feeling ravenous lately, occasionally given in and had an extra snack.

Looking for something to wear this morning I found a shirt I don't ever remember wearing and put it on. It's maybe a little snug but fits without looking like it's too tight. It's the first item of clothing that I've been able to fit back into so cause for celebration.

Wishing everyone a great day.

No change on the scales. DH has been in the kitchen cooking meals for me; soups and turkey nuggets. I'm trying to walk each day, seldom miss now that DH is coming with me. All is going well, just wish it was going faster.
