Re: Andy46
Its a great day out our way - we have had a lot of rain and the place is very wet. The Warrego River is running and every one is happy. The country will look very good as soon as we get some warmer weather and it will be a good Christmas.
I have been doing what people on Cohen's do - sticking to the plan 100% and losing weight. I have received some pamphlets and brochures from a clinic to give out to people who ask the whys and hows. As I opened the envelope three people asked me so I was able to hand them the information. Maybe everyone else can pick up some brochures and pamphlets as it explains a lot about the program and saves me anyway. Yesterday I had a day in Charleville and it was good to catch up with some old friends. One in particular who no doubt will read this post - had not seen me for a while and was amazed at the difference in me !!!!!!!!!!! Any way have a good day and keep at it - it does and will work for you Andy Any way had better hit the road.

Re: Andy46
you totally rock andy.
i think that says it all really. great to hear you have had some rain, river is running, amazing the effect of rain on the town hey. we have the same thing here in alice, as soon as the river starts flowing people are out and into it. and if there is a big rain everyone is taking lots of photos. hey maybe you can recruit lots of people in yr town and be the weight loss capitol of qld. or maybe you should be arranging spotters fees with the good dr? have a great day mate. cheers penny |

Re: Andy46
Thanks Pen - the old river is running well tonight and still more water to come down - every one is happy and the local school kids are having their graduations tonight - and play - they are so excited - I was going as a guest to the kids but declined as I am really tired and have had a busy week in Charleville so politely declined and wished all th year 7 children well - all 4 of them who will be off to boarding school next year. I will go up and wish them well at their last assembly most likely. The school has all of 40 great kids - all bushies - and just wild Aussie kids at times - the town looks after its own though. Any way have to feed my calf so will catch up later tonight. Andy

Re: Andy46
Hi Andy, well done on your loss - you rock alright - as you truck along you are leaving a convoy of kilos behind you - you will be like a butterfly (male of course) breaking out of your cocoon and it's great when you friends and family can see the differnce isn't it - I've had some people at work notice and pay compliments and it spurs me on and convinces me Cohens is the way to go!

Re: Andy46
Thanks gals,
I was hoping the kids won't recognize me ........... then they can ask their mother for money !!!!!!!!!!!!!! ......... they haven't been weaned yet. But I hope its soon ................. although I am fairly compliant with them as I know they will be picking my old peoples home in about 50 or so years so I am careful to be nice to them!!!!!!! All else well we had a another 30 ml last night and the river is roaring past heading south - and the cloud is building up again so never know - might be flooding ion the west next week !!!!!!!!!!!! I have been threw a couple out here and its not too bad - we have a good team of workers in our State Emergency Services and most people know what to do. I just have to supervise and keep an eye on the water in the river so we can pass the information on tot he towns like Charleville and Cunnamulla so they can close their levy banks off and avoid getting washed away. But its a long long way of a flood at this stage as the river system is very dry and having a good flush out. There are lots of swamps and lagoons and holes to fill and it floods out in big loops of water that take a lot to fill so alls good. It really does make for a brilliant Christmas for this Western Community to have had this rain for which the locals are very thankful. Any way still doing what I do each day and still feeling a bit skinner than I was 14 wks ago - and as I near that half way mark it stops amazing and thrilling me the loss of the weight that has been hanging around for so many years - it is so good to be going down this road to a new me. All the best - hope no one is struggling to much - if you are - please stay with it and stick to the game plan - it will deliver sooner than later. All the best Andy

Re: Andy46
Sorry Pen - I can not let you get away with that............................ Here for your information is -
My Country The love of field and coppice Of green and shaded lanes, Of ordered woods and gardens Is running in your veins. Strong love of grey-blue distance, Brown streams and soft, dim skies I know, but cannot share it, My love is otherwise. I love a sunburnt country, A land of sweeping plains, Of rugged mountain ranges, Of droughts and flooding rains. I love her far horizons, I love her jewel-sea, Her beauty and her terror The wide brown land for me! The stark white ring-barked forests, All tragic to the moon, The sapphire-misted mountains, The hot gold hush of noon, Green tangle of the brushes Where lithe lianas coil, And orchids deck the tree-tops, And ferns the warm dark soil. Core of my heart, my country! Her pitiless blue sky, When, sick at heart, around us We see the cattle die But then the grey clouds gather, And we can bless again The drumming of an army, The steady soaking rain. Core of my heart, my country! Land of the rainbow gold, For flood and fire and famine She pays us back threefold. Over the thirsty paddocks, Watch, after many days, The filmy veil of greenness That thickens as we gaze… An opal-hearted country, A wilful, lavish land All you who have not loved her, You will not understand though Earth holds many splendours, Wherever I may die, I know to what brown country My homing thoughts will fly. Dorothea Mackellar Being a bush boy it was one of the first poems I learnt as my Mum was a hard teacher and we had to learn about the bush we lived in !!!!!

Re: Andy46
All good out this way - weather is still being kind and again storms all around. No rain here today in the center of the Cosmos - but all around us I can see storms on the BOM radar. The Warrego is flowing south and the locals are betting it will get to Bourke - I think it will go a bit further. My son went up in a small plane and filmed the flood waters - not really floods - just good flows of water in West Qld - so will see what it all looks like. The Warrego, Nive, Paroo, Bulloo and Ward rivers are all full and running - which is a good thing for the outback. All the mentioned rivers go to the Murray Darling which eventually flows to sea below Adelaida near Hindmarsh Island. With all the label talk about clothes I checked mine today - I was wearing a size 54 shirt 15 weeks ago - today I had a 46 shirt on and I will come down a size most likely for Monday. I have 5 working days left than I am off untill 14/01/2008 - I will be down to 42 by then hopefully - what a buzz that is - as for trousers - I'll be really looking to get new ones by then - after having them tailor made I'll just be able to read the size on the chart and order new ones - haven't done that for a lot of years now. I am so glad I am not a women - what a hassle it must be looking for new cloths !!!!!!!!!! It takes me about two minutes to buy my casual shirts - all three a year about. Any way - I have now caught up on all the posts and it so good to see the new forum members being so ably assisted by all. And those ears of the beagle are still out there - listening and providing the wise advice to all - good one old mate - you beagle you. Any way I hope every one has a great weekend and the kilos just keep going south !!! Andy

Re: Andy46
Hey Andy,
I have started saving already for the new shopping at a size 12. I put my tax return aside. I haven't worked it out yet but my plan is something like $50 - $100 every 5 kilos so I would end up with a kitty to go on a great shopping spree. Buying easily off the rack will be a great feeling! Bring it on! Sounds like you are getting a great long break too. Feels great doesn't it. Enjoy. Daisy.

Re: Andy46
Well it’s all fine here this morning - a beautiful clear day and the sun is shining down - which is good to make the grass grow in our part of the world - most people I have spoken to around here have ended up with from 6 inches of rain to 14 inch's - our annual rainfall being 18 inch's - now for you younger ones that was for Pudge - so I'll convert for you that’s - 150 ml to 350 ml with our annual rainfall of 450 ml. So all in all very good news for the area around Augathella. The Warrego is running well - it is normally dry here - and the flow of water will go well down into NSW to-wards SA to the sea - so alls good and it provides valuable water downstream for crops etc.
Today I am down to 108.2 - I am thrilled - and very happy - that old 100 number is not far away and I will be half way at 106 - so I say "Bring it on" I think I can handle it. I am amazed at the way the weight has gone off me and where it has gone from !!!! Normally my gut is the last to go in any way - but this time it is the first - my waist has come back so fast - but so has my upper body and my legs are getting skinny as well. Here is a photo of my belts journey from my work pants - the end has crept through the keepers to almost behind me - will be getting a new belt shirts and trousers to start back at work in the new year no doubt. Al so one of me with no boots on and my hair not brushed in an old pair of RM 's and shirt I know I haven't worn for 10 years it was very dusty in the cupboard - and I am not half way down yet !!!!!!!!! so will need to wear these cloths whilst I can - at the beach !!!!!!! Well to all you honest toilers out in the Cohen mines - digging away at your patch moving a of bit weight out - have a great day and keep smiling - I will be and I know you all will be as well. Andy

Hey Andy what a handsome chap you are in that blue shirt and white trousers and it is hard to believe you are still only half way! There will be nothing left of you at this rate! And your missus may have to lock you up when you get to goal as you will be positively dangerous to yourself as the "new you" emerges! Maybe Cohens can use you as a before and after poster boy! Very well done Andy. Lookin fine ol boy......
Thanks for the conversion. Your getting rain we are getting more snow. Am guessing we got 10 inches overnight and it is snowing big time now. It is nearly to my knee's now well this afternoon. Rode my snowmoble around the field today. Wasn't dressed for the cold so didn't ride much. Can't wait to get more so we can really get out and ride. pudge |
